Getting to the safe towns is hectic but your truck is armed with weapons that blast mutants into taco fillings. In the towns you serve up the mutant scraps to struggling survivors who are more picky than they should be. Use money earned and scrap metal found to upgrade your truck and buy gas and supplies for the trip to the next town. You simply MUST see this game to believe it. Download now! Rave Reviews: "Without question one of, if not the best, roguelike game I've ever played." ... "Crazy-good roguelike, very challenging and extremely fun. Cannot recommend more highly!" – Steam review "...a game that's quite fun & enjoyable & original & interesting. We don't get that often." – Jim Sterling @jimsterling Gunman Taco Truck is one of MacWorld's "The 10 Mac Games You Need To Play" in January 2017 "Rather than a silly kids’ game, Gunman Taco Truck is a competent action roguelike with some strategy and planning elements thrown in for good measure. Instead of a simple distraction, there is a robust game here that is going to provide quite a challenge, and you’ll see a significant amount of gameplay before you reach the end. There are also decals to collect along the way, and there are various routes that you can take across the country, so expect to spend quite a bit of time with the game if you want to see everything. It can be a bit tedious to have to replay the early parts of the game over and over as you start from scratch each time, but as you progress it feels good to get a bit further. All in all, Gunman Taco Truck is quite fun, and it surprised me with just how much game hides just behind the vibrant, silly surface." – TechRaptor All Age Gaming gives GMTT a 9/10 rating! http://www.allagegaming.com/featured/gunman-taco-truck TechRaptor gives GMTT a 7.5/10 rating! The game idea was so good that his parents, John and Brenda Romero, decided to make its development a family project. Over 2 years and lots of fun have gone into making Gunman Taco Truck an unforgettable experience, and the realization of Donovan's dream of making a video game. Donovan has been learning how to code for the past 3 years. ==================================================== The entire game is free to play to the very end! It's more accurate to say he is the senior designer of the game. John, his wife Brenda (known for work on Wizardry 8 and Jagged Alliance 2) and a small team worked with closely with Donovan to build the actual game. It grew out of some coding lessons between John and Donovan, John had him put together a real game design document and they all turned it into the game that's in the AppStore and Steam. That doesn't take away from the coolness of this very personal project, just had to put it out there. The combo of making food items quickly (remembering recipes and having the ingredients to make it) coupled with some z-road-like shooting and driving is actually pretty darn fun! Wish that it could be Apple TV universal ObsidianBlood Well-Known Member Apr 10, 2013 83 0 0 #15 ObsidianBlood, Feb 16, 2017 I was looking forward to this but I really don't like tapping constantly on every single thing to do anything at all in the game. My fingers are constantly obscuring the screen, not to mention I got sick of tapping within minutes... Gotta tap a bunch to kill stuff, tap to pick up stuff, tap to break signs, kill cows and that's all on top of the swiping to move the truck. It's just a little much, feels kind of manic in a really bad way... They could've made a clicker out of this there's so much tapping. Anyways I'm done, that's my opinion. You may enjoy tapping incessantly where I did not. brianj22 Well-Known Member Dec 14, 2016 180 0 0 #16 brianj22, Feb 16, 2017 Can we all slow our roll for a second and appreciate the fact that a well made post apocalyptic mutant taco truck driving cooking game came out of nowhere? Also, dev is like, pre-natal! It's also a shooting game, with cows. ObsidianBlood Well-Known Member Apr 10, 2013 83 0 0 #17 ObsidianBlood, Feb 16, 2017 It's not that there's nothing to like here, there is! The style is great, the concept is funny and I like apocalyptic car games. But the massive overuse (imo) of tapping in the driving sections specifically really turned me off. But hey, it's free. Check it out and form your opinions! chief78 Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2012 2,317 7 38 #18 chief78, Feb 16, 2017 Looking at the IAP and some of the weapons, it looks like rockets and other weapons become available which would probably alleviate some of the monotonous tapping. I guess I don't mind the tapping because (like a clicker) you're grinding resources very quickly. I think all in all, there's a little bit of a few proven successful formulas on mobile gaming all brought together. I haven't been able to get far enough into the game to try any other weapons though, so I guess we'll see what the difficulty curve is. araczynski Well-Known Member Oct 5, 2009 1,467 0 36 programmer omaha, ne #19 araczynski, Feb 16, 2017 was fun for a minute, then had to start making their custom tacos, don't have the interest/time to memorize different taco formulas, deleted it. personally i loved the tapping portion though was fun blowing up everything.
