It's AAA I didn't expect it to be so good it's got it all and I can't believe I paid $3 for it The story mode is like civilization some in that respect plus the fighting The challenge mode is so fun it's the 1 v 1 only fighting mode A lot more ability to move around while fighting than day versus a mortal kombat or Street fighter and also lots of difficulty settings to work with in challenge mode Again 3$ this is theft Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #8 Dailon80, Feb 9, 2017 it even has a record button to record gameplay and now having spent more time and trying all the modes except the competition mode (which is coming soon and prolly multiplayer) this is to me the best fighting game on the app store i know that's bold but I stand by it, the challenge mode is incredible! This is a must buy if you like SOul Caliber, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat like games, this one gives you even more freedom of movement than most fighting games ShelvsHotPencil Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2016 306 0 0 #9 ShelvsHotPencil, Feb 9, 2017 Do u have any big tip for story mode? This would be the one game that does NOT have to hide its presentation behind thumbnails. So yeah, it certainly looks as good as it looks. Except better. As for how the combat plays... intuitively, very smoothly, very fast, high-intensity twitch action, with a high sensation of freedom of movement and kinetic feedback. It's not very complex, though. The available choices in any given situation are few for a fighting game, and the resulting tactical depth and width suffer as a result. You'll very quickly seize upon a functional strategy with each character, and odds are you'll be repeating those steps with few deviations for the rest of your time with the game. The freedom of mobility rarely has an impact on fights, and react-respond is the name of the (literal) game. It might be one of the most impressive games I won't be playing. Firing up the beta, I was stunned at the ambition of this level of presentation and fluidity, but didn't remain long in-game, and rarely revisited. But to top off this oxymoronic review, I still thinks it is a very good game. It deserves great success and riches and more intricate sequels. And for anyone who enjoys simple but highly reactive combat systems (or who is used to the iOS third-person action standard), it's probably plays like a dream. And the price kind of makes purchase a non-choice. Perhaps even for me. Nekko Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2014 457 0 16 Tokyo-3 #16 Nekko, Feb 9, 2017 Yeah, this game is pretty legit. Animations are really good and the controls aren't too complicated. Only downsides are the screen record button on the side can't seem to be removed from what I can tell and there isn't an options menu. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #17 squarezero, Feb 9, 2017 It's...different. Or, I should say, there's more to it than I expected. As Dailon80 mentioned, the story mode plays more like a simplified Civ than an action game. You send troops to different towns, collect resources, and face a variety of encounters that require a decision. Every once in a while you are challenged to one on one combat, which you can meet with your character or one of your heroes. The combat looks exactly like what you see on the trailer, and it plays really well: the controls are easy and responsive, the action is fluid, the framerate is rock solid, and it just looks awesome. If you win the encounter, the enemy can join your team as a new hero. Haven't tried the other modes yet, but they seem more action-centered. So far, I am very intrigued. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #18 anthony78, Feb 9, 2017 Sounds good but am curious about the comparisons to Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. The videos look more like Devil May Cry's combat than a traditional 2D fighter: Am I wrong? I actually would prefer a DmC type game. I don't think it plays like MK or SF at all. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
