Looks like Dungelot, plays way different, but not a bad thing. Tap to move, but level based and makes you really think. 3-stars if you complete within the set amount of moves. So far loving it! It plays different than I imagined, but better than I initially thought. No IAP's (as far as I can see) and more of a puzzler. Very entertaining game, I'm enjoying and the price feels like I'm stealing from them. y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #10 y2kmp3, Feb 8, 2017 I am very intrigued by this game, as the trailer looks like that the game is more of a puzzler than a typical rogue-like grinder. JoshCM, since you present the developer, can you explain a bit on whether or not each level has an "optimal" solution? Is the optimal solution always the one that uses the fewest steps? How much of a margin does the game give on the step counts for scoring 3 stars? How do I know if my solution is "truly" the best possible solution (that is, does the game makes this known to the player)? What is the advantage of solving a puzzle not optimally (for example, trade off with getting more loot for upgrades, etc.)? Is it possible, with care, to finish all 100 levels without dying even once? I am asking this because if the core game mechanic is a puzzler than the game ought to be solvable without dying. Its basically just knowing the solution to each level, with secondary options for completing it. I will have more info when I hear back from them (they are on Russia time) Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #12 Exact-Psience, Feb 8, 2017 Looks fantastic gameplay-wise... i wish there was a smoother movement between tiles though. JoshCM Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2009 4,250 23 38 Game Designer Upstate NY http://www.crescentmoongames.com #13 JoshCM, Feb 9, 2017 Its basically the same as Microgue, maybe a little faster. Do you mean running between tiles? Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #14 Exact-Psience, Feb 9, 2017 Not exactly running... maybe just a quick slide instead of a frame-skip, i think i'd prefer that. I bought the game but i havent started yet (still working). Cant wait to give this a spin despite my preference for the movement, coz the rest of the game, most importantly the gameplay, seems well polished. y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #15 y2kmp3, Feb 9, 2017 Can someone explain the gold coin icon and ruby icon at the opening screen for each level? Tapping on the gold coin icon seems to drop a coin in the level. Does this mean that there are levels which are unsolvable without dropping a coin? What about the ruby icon? It does nothing when I tap on it. Am I missing something about its use that may be apparent only at later stages? I dont want to spend rubies to add more moves or revive. I think i may have exhausted my options other than spending rubies. So here's my question... Are the rubies required in some stages to complete them? Or is it possible to complete all stages without using gems? EDIT: completed 14 on my next try after i posted this. LOL. My question remains the same though... Solution for Level 24 is: Spoiler 1. Forward 2 steps to take coin (75 moves remaining). 2. Back 1 step to buy potion (74 moves remaining). 3. Forward 3 steps to take key (71 moves remaining). 4. Forward 1 step. Turn corner. Kill skeleton. Kill slime. Kill skeleton. (1 heart, 67 moves remaining). 5. Forward 3 steps. Turn at crossroad. Open door. Forward 1 step to take potion (62 moves remaining). 6. Backtrack to trader. Sell potion. (52 moves remaining). 7. Forward 2 steps. Turn corner. Forward 3 steps. Turn corner. Forward 1 step to buy key. (46 moves remaining). 8. Forward 2 steps. Turn at crossroad. Forward 2 steps. Open door. Take 2 keys. (39 moves remaining). 9. Backtrack to trader. Sell 1 key. (1 heart, poisoned, 17 moves remaining). 12. Forward 1 step. Turn corner. Open door. (15 moves remaining). 13. Forward 1 step to exit. (14 moves remaining, 3 stars). There is one trivial variant solution, but the solutions (at least the ones I discovered) are equally efficient. Some of the later levels are quite clever, requiring you to strategically Spoiler drop items to pick them up later when needed (a trick when the game leaves you to discover yourself). PS: I just found out that this game was previously released on the PC. On the Steam forum, there are a number of posts complaining about grinding in the last worlds? Anyone know what this is about?
