Interested in whether this is the same hexwar engine with a different skin, which the rest of their stable seem to be (quantity over quality). I do all the Slitherine games and love the warhammer ones, so interested if this offers anything new compared to them - or is a cheaper version of those (on both cost and implementation) Sexy Pirate Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2014 889 0 0 Call centre / Parent Newcastle England #9 Sexy Pirate, Feb 8, 2017 £2.99 downloading now love slitherine games Mince0 Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2015 164 0 16 #10 Mince0, Feb 8, 2017 This is by HexWar games not slitherine... TokyoDan Well-Known Member Oct 7, 2010 394 2 18 #13 TokyoDan, Feb 8, 2017 Me too. I find that Hex games are bottom rung. Most of their games are just reskinned versions of each other. And since they release on iOS and Steam at the same time, and since Steam gives refunds, I usually give them a try on Steam first. But usually end up getting a refund because of one or another problem with the games. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #14 skoptic, Feb 8, 2017 Last edited: Feb 8, 2017 Ditto... the military tbs they churn out is not my cup of tea, I far prefer the Slitherine games regardless of cost. Their more recent forays into other game types (Shenandoah style and board game adaptations) seem to review poorly and reviews have highlighted numerous issues synonymous with cheaper, lower quality implementations. This is probably perfect for some users, but is not on a par with some other military tbs games. To compound this, app support seems lightweight (some minor bugs - not addressing key usability issues etc) so I presume the dev ethos is to move onto the next game rather than address feedback concerns. Don't get me wrong I would love another quality military tbs contender to fuel my app addiction, but will need some convincing that this leopard has changed...... etc....... On a purely superficial note, the dice icon on app icons could do with being consigned to some deep dark pit somewhere too - I appreciate the irony considering this app has actually dispensed with that, replaced with the GW IP TokyoDan Well-Known Member Oct 7, 2010 394 2 18 #15 TokyoDan, Feb 8, 2017 I just learned that the Steam version for 8.99 includes all the DLC of the iOS version, and a few extra missions that you can't get with the iOS version.
