Dream Theater and Turbo Tape Games have worked close together to create this signature board-game, a reenactment of Dream Theater's epic rock opera The Astonishing. It enables players to unfold and untangle the original story from the perspectives of both The Ravenskill Rebel Militia and The Great Northern Empire of the Americas. The full story is not grasped before completing the game from both sides of the conflict, during which players’ battle for influence and control over the will of the people. Participate in competitions for great prizes, including signed albums, tickets and post-concert passes, available to players during the Dream Theater tours. The game has a one-time purchase cost with no in-app purchases, making players eligible for any and all free upgrades. KEY FEATURES: - Unique, signature board-based gameplay as developed by Turbo Tape Games - Single player campaign - Player vs. player matches on the same device - An interactive narrative, unfolding the story of The Astonishing as seen from both factions - A new level to The Astonishing narrative, bringing the struggle to various locations across The Great Northern Empire - A non-violent game metaphor, where playing pieces in battle over game sectors, forcing opponents to give up power and influence, rather than fighting to the death - Utilizing the unique video artwork shown exclusively during live shows on Dream Theater’s The Astonishing world tour - Featuring instrumental musical sections from The Astonishing, Dream Theater’s groundbreaking, conceptual double album - The game comes with the option to freely enter exclusive competitions for grand prizes during Dream Theater’s tours Information Seller:Turbo Tape Games AS Genre:Board, Strategy Release:Feb 02, 2017 Updated:May 03, 2017 Version:1.2.0 Size:622.4 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (1) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #2 stubbieoz, Feb 2, 2017 Ugh. ☹️ It says SD iPhone only at the top of this thread. There's a heap of text in the game and it's the tiniest I've ever seen in a game on SE. Literally had to skip entire chunks of the tutorial because I couldn't even make out letters. Couldn't figure out some minor things, but once I started the story mode and found out there was text littered all over the place too...I just deleted the game. Shame. It's rather compelling even from the tutorial. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #9 Misguided, Feb 3, 2017 Occasional? That's funny. If you have bought the game, and play it, can you say what's with 1x graphics? stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #11 stubbieoz, Feb 3, 2017 It's a misprint from TouchArcade, it's universal. The game looks fine on the big iPad Pro. But the game.....blah. Get UHR-Warlords instead. Can you share more details about why you don't like The Astonishing? Amesiu Member Feb 3, 2016 24 0 0 #13 Amesiu, Feb 4, 2017 Hmmm I finish now main campaign. I like game because of dream theater and the astonishing music. My impression Ai is not very smart... very easy it is more hard to learn all character move and special abilities. One game is very long and frustrating because ai is not trying to beat you... ai just does not want to die.. There is two board style 3D style and 2d style. I like dream theater music but thinking of move with the music gave me headache. Animation is funny and cute^^ I love it! Can play rebel side and empire side but units are same function only different skin. There is no level up or items.. I like that. Story is little confusing for people don't know "the astonishing" album because some important scene is not show It will help to enjoy game if you listen to it.. only 2 hours haha it is like final fantasy setting + Disney princess song + rock Overall I like it because of concept and will play empire campaign next. DTK Well-Known Member Aug 22, 2014 343 12 18 Marketing Berlin Germany #14 DTK, Feb 5, 2017 "UHR-Warlords" has been installed on my devices for more than two years, because I occasionally play a lot. I actually hoped that "The Astonishing" was a similar, so to speak new and improved version of "UHR-Warlords". With improved, up-to-date graphics and any new features. Because "UHR-Warlords" is already 3 years old. That is why I agree with the question of ColeDaddy, why is "The Astonishing" not good? Are there problems with the app (crashs, bugs)? I just wanted to buy the game, but now I'm insecure. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Password: Forgot your password?
