We are really excited to release our first game into the world after grinding away at it for months. Tappy Cat is a cutesy but challenging 2-finger (or paw) music game featuring collectible playable kitties. We wanted to make a music game that is approachable, with an acoustic/back to nature vibe, and rewards good play with something tangible. Hope you like our cats and music as much as we do! A difference with this one is that there are two separate streams of note bubbles and I'm having to move both eyes in opposite directions to follow them. Make too many mistakes and it's game over. Struggling a bit with level 3 but I'm determined to master the tree guitar. owen_labs Member Feb 2, 2017 9 0 0 #4 owen_labs, Feb 2, 2017 Thanks for the comment!! You're pretty spot on, we call it "deceptively challenging", but the tree guitar does get easier with practice Danjuro Member Feb 4, 2017 14 1 3 #5 Danjuro, Feb 4, 2017 Last edited: Feb 6, 2017 Hello, I registered to this site as your own site doesn't provide an email to contact you. I wanted to thank you for this lovely game. It is the first rhythm game where I actually feel like influencing the music. I love the 2 handed mechanics, and the attention to details. I am very fond of it, and hope it gets some much deserved attention. I encountered a little bug, on the "retry" screen, if I tap rapidly on it, it sometimes get stuck and I need to restart the game. I think also it should be stated that trying to get a cat to join is a gamble limited in tries (4, I think?), and also in time (the investment resets after you leave the screen). Finally, while not butchering a song is a reward on its own, since you took the trouble to implement hiscores, why not have friends or global leaderboards ? Finally (really, this time!), not relate to my experience: on my country's store front, a relatively large number of people are reporting issues with the game not starting up on their iPhone 6 (I assume on iOS 10). I have had no issues on an iPod touch running iOS 9. But really, this is a tremendous game. Thanks for it! Edit: We just ran into a repeatable crash when selecting the 29th song Spoiler Jingle Bell on an iPhone 5 running iOS 9. Restarting the device didn't help. Can't go further :O Edit 2: version 1.05 fixed it, thank you! Edit 3: Found a new issue in v1.05 with Pomp and Circumstances (track #2) being cut at about 1/3 of what was its length previously. Track 3, has been cut also and this certainly helped me to complete it. Yanagi Well-Known Member Sep 30, 2015 246 0 16 Medicine #7 Yanagi, Feb 6, 2017 This was surprisingly difficult but captivating. I'm still determined to try and get through at least half of the available stages. Does anyone here know if buying the unlimited lives ($1.99) also removes the video ads or are they separate purchases? Danjuro Member Feb 4, 2017 14 1 3 #8 Danjuro, Feb 6, 2017 I purchased the 2 bucks IAP immediately after running out of lives, and didn't even know there were video ads, so I guess it takes care of them. reil New Member Mar 28, 2010 2 0 0 #9 reil, Feb 7, 2017 I bought unlimited lives and still got ads. The IAP for removing ad popups is separate from the IAP for having unlimited lives. We thought about combining both but...thought we'd try making it more accessible first. We hope to be adding more songs, and possibly an "encore" mode for pros to play endlessly until mistake Thumpermat Active Member May 4, 2009 42 1 6 #13 Thumpermat, Feb 9, 2017 I would like to really like the game, but I can't. And for one reason only: I'm somewhat colour blind. Unfortunately I can hardly see the correct "tapping" position on the line. So if it were possible to make it more visible, I would play this game much more. Or maybe an option under "Settings". Anyway I wish the developer lots of success with this app. kowwok Member May 3, 2012 24 0 0 #14 kowwok, Feb 9, 2017 Last edited: Feb 9, 2017 Hey again! Your friendly neighborhood bug reporter here. My wife and I discovered something yesterday. After a new cat appears, if you hit the home button the app has a tendency to crash. I can provide further details if you need! Edit: Also, I don't know if this is intentional, but I just noticed that songs 24 and 49 are the same (sugarplum). I was hoping for more of a challenge for the final song Danjuro Member Feb 4, 2017 14 1 3 #15 Danjuro, Feb 10, 2017 This is so strange... We have never seen an ad, and don't even have the IAP listed in the store... Speaking of weird: Here, the game ends at song 46, Etude Opus n.10 (I guess Chopin's? Although that's definitely not the most famous pick oO), and it is exhausting :O I hope we get some new challenging mode soon (as well as the truncated songs making a come-back there, wink wink kowwok Member May 3, 2012 24 0 0 #16 kowwok, Feb 10, 2017 What are you playing the game on? My wife and I are on ios10. I just double checked mine, song 48 is Etude Opus no.10; song 49 is Sugarplum. Really weird! owen_labs Member Feb 2, 2017 9 0 0 #17 owen_labs, Feb 10, 2017 Love having friendly bug reporters! Yes, I'm aware of that bug... it'll be fixed in the next update this weekend, along with some more exciting things, if we can keep working all nighters. Also aware of having 2 songs the same (another bug). Sugarplum is only supposed to be #24, not #49. Also, there will be new songs, they just take a long time to make . Which country/area are you from, just curious about the discrepancies here. owen_labs Member Feb 2, 2017 9 0 0 #18 owen_labs, Feb 10, 2017 Thanks for reporting again Danjuro. I have also heard not seeing ads from someone, but not having the IAP listed is even stranger. Which country/store are you in?? #46 is exhausting. It's probably not the most famous, but it fit our lengthy criteria for a hard song fitting our model. Suggestions welcome owen_labs Member Feb 2, 2017 9 0 0 #19 owen_labs, Feb 10, 2017 Ah, thanks for letting us know. Is it just the tapping position? Can you distinguish the colors of the different types of notes? (grey, purple, blue)? owen_labs Member Feb 2, 2017 9 0 0 #20 owen_labs, Feb 10, 2017 Also, just updated new song for #49. But you'll have either update to the latest version on the app store, or, assuming you already have th latest version, wait a day for things to update (we didn't want to do internet network connections too often since users mostly play offline).
