However, if my memory is correct, it was a fairly short experience of about half an hour/45 mins. Not sure if it's been expanded upon here. Note that this game does deal with the topic of Spoiler homosexuality , which is one of the focal points of the latter half of the game. If that makes you uncomfortable (although I wouldn't see why), just letting you know. imdakine1 Well-Known Member Aug 23, 2011 1,228 22 38 #3 imdakine1, Jun 20, 2017 Was interested in this but not much activity on TA forum. I heard it was a bit short which might be the only complaint. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 834 399 63 Male 95% leisure. Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #4 sebgo, Jun 20, 2017 It's a two hours reading and basic puzzle solving, totally worth experiencing. I liked it a lot even though there's no replayability value (at least not for me, because I read everything I found). Music is awesome and the story will make you feel kinda connected with it, like you're actually finding stuff about some stranger. I totally recommend it. imdakine1 Well-Known Member Aug 23, 2011 1,228 22 38 #5 imdakine1, Jun 21, 2017 Thanks! I started playing it one morning and I couldn't stop till I finished it. It deals with themes so close to my and people that I care that it was a really surprise when, you know, make THAT twist. And the idea of playing with Apps and interface in that way... I recommend it to everybody because it is a really great experience that will let you learn a lot. Elebe Member Jun 23, 2017 6 0 0 teacher Dallas #8 Elebe, Jun 23, 2017 Okay, I have to talk about this game. I let my mother play this, she thought it was kind of beautiful and you don't have to shoot anyone, so she liked the idea. I found her in tears two day laters becaus she finished the game and don't expected anything that the game tales. So, I think this is something more than a game and you should play it. Once it was over I took it off of my phone and that was that. You're mostly following a story with a few very basic puzzles to continue the story. It's pretty immersive, though -- you get to know the characters. Praymettin Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2012 95 0 6 #14 Praymettin, Sep 21, 2017 Thank you for your neutral and really critical informative comment. I was ready to buy this until I checked the comments. Then researched the game. Thanks for the heads-up, I would never let my nephew near this awful of propoganda disguised as a game. Rosso Well-Known Member Dec 17, 2010 236 12 18 #15 Rosso, Dec 29, 2017 Yeah. Spot on! Dont let that awfulness spread over to your nephew! He might get infected by playing this game. And he might transition from the Dark Ages to modern times. Seriously: this is the most awful comment I have seen in a long time. And the person that felt the the word HOMOSEXUALITY has to be hidden (not because of it being a spoiler), shame on you as well. sinagog Well-Known Member Aug 15, 2014 937 0 0 #16 sinagog, Dec 29, 2017 I agree that that is one extremely retrogressive comment from Praymettin (though, I suppose, perhaps understandable if you grew up in a community socially a few decades behind most of the rest of the world), but you don't find out the character's gay until a litle while in, so I genuinely think TheGreatEscaper gave the spoiler warning because it's a spoiler, not because reading the very word HOMOSEXUALITY would taint the eyes of the vulnerable out there. TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #17 TheGreatEscaper, Dec 29, 2017 Last edited: Dec 29, 2017 Geez. I didn't mean my comment to be offensive at all, and I'm appalled by Praymettin's. I spoilered cos it's a spoiler - I think it's a nice reveal in the game with enough clues pointing to it before it's made clear, so I thought blatantly saying what the game was about would be a bit like spoiling a mild reveal in a mystery novel. I wrote my comment quickly and without much thought, and I can definitely see how it *could* be interpreted in different ways, but I didn't mean any harm. I'm queer myself, and definitely think that it's something that should be represented in media more often in ways that aren't as reductive as 'flamboyant man/tomboy/etc.', something which keeps on turning up everywhere. My comment was phrased badly, but the intended meaning I had at the time was something as follows: There are queer characters. If I can remember correctly, there are happy endings, but this is, as is strangely common for pieces of media about queer characters, about the struggle of acceptance/self-acceptance. I'm all for exploring this story, but at the same time, I myself get uncomfortable when nearly every piece of media I see with a queer protagonist is simply about their struggle *with* queerness. It's hard to find protagonists in some story about slaying dragons, solving crime, spelunking etc. that just happen to be queer - it's as if a protagonist can't just happen to be queer. If they're queer, then the entire story is about that. And I think that's a little sad. I did enjoy this game, but as far as I can remember, it falls into this category too. There are queer characters. If this makes you uncomfortable (although I wouldn't see why), better that we start a discourse here rather than you buy the game, and come here flaming that there are queer characters and you weren't told about this. Unfortunately my comment seems to have had the reverse effect on Preymettin There are queer characters. I stated this because it's a fact that I thought could mean something to people - it's something that might say that this is not a story you want to experience right now, since I myself don't always want to see stories about queer people struggling with themselves or others. It's something that might say, this could be something you don't approve of, but if that's the case, can we have a talk about why? I apologise again if my comment was articulated in a rushed manner that could come across as offensive or reductive. But I *did* feel the need to draw attention to this fact, because that's what the game seems to be trying to do as well, be that for better or worse. I think sinagog was being a bit unfair, probably in reaction to Praymettin idiotic comment (he or she can disapprove of homosexuality as much a they like, but calling the game “awful propaganda” because it deals with the subject is the worst kind of groupthink). In any event, thanks for clarifying your comment, but I don’t think an apology was necessary. sinagog Well-Known Member Aug 15, 2014 937 0 0 #19 sinagog, Dec 29, 2017 It really breaks my heart how some people think that anything which includes a gay character is some sort of propaganda. They usually couple that belief with the idea that being gay is a choice, rather than something inherent. To them gay people existing, or in any way raising their heads above the parapet, is an act of aggression. Luckily, those types seem to be dying off; the youngest generation has no time for their forefathers' nonsense. Love hearing your insight, TGE, on how 'the gay struggle' is maybe a bit backwards-looking in and of itself, if mostly well-intentioned. I have a trans aunt who feels like the moment she goes a day without having to break into conversation about trans issues society will have made some progress. Gay characters whose lives, like those of straight people, don't revolve around their sexuality is what's needed now. sinagog Well-Known Member Aug 15, 2014 937 0 0 #20 sinagog, Dec 29, 2017 Hey, I was the one who said that TGE was just spoilering a significant plot detail!
