I hadn't seen this type of puzzle presented as a story before; usually they are quotes or sayings. The story format seems to help with intuiting some of the words likely to be used. The first tale is certainly intriguing and provides incentive to continue. The process is also helped along wtih all guessed letters being filled in automatically, and warnings given if any are duplicated. The first few pages have some letters already completed to assist beginners in codebreaking.
