    somewhere
    so as in topic:
    anyone tried this?
is it any good, is it slow, generally HOW DOES IT WORK?
anyone paid 99$, enrolled to SDK and gained access to iPhone 3.0 Beta?

    waiting for your opinions.

  2. Thanks dannys95 you got a great blog.

That is to prevent spammers. Forgot what it's called webbug I think. Yea it's web bug http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_bug
Basically if you read a spam message it'll have a remote image many times 1x1 invisible white. Their webserver logs your email account as having accessed that email and thus they know yours is ACTIVE...say hello to another million spam in that case. I always like to disable loading remote images. If you do get a legitimate message you just click show image and your golden.

My only question to you is with Search. Can you disable searching notes, contacts, etc. In other words if I only want it to search apps is that possible in settings somewhere?

I have a question for people who have tried this out. Since theres a new page for Spotlight, when you hit the home button while not in an app does it take you to that or to your first page of apps?

  4. Watching webcast it clearly shows it as a page. Some were saying they should've made a gesture up/down to access page instead of left gesture to be able to access it from any page. But I'm pretty sure it's not a gesture but rather a flick to the right to access the spotlight page on the left. Correct me if I'm wrong. So to Access it it'll be HOME button (if not on home screen) then flick to right to pull it up each time.

Thanks Mr.Bass. It's not MY blog, but I write there a lot. I have to seen the option to disable search in notes, contacts etc..

But hang on. Are you talking about the search option in the app itself or in Spotlight?

P.S: Thanks for clearing that up. I'll update the post later and give you credit.

    Um....OK.......

There are 9 pages like now. Before the first one where Safari is is Spotlight. That's about the only thing that has changed. So yeah if you press the home button while searching in SpotLight you go to the first page. But Spotlight remembers what you were searching.

  7. no I is talking about spotlight. I sure hope they let us limit what it does and doesn't search.

Right now we do not control what it searches. But it seems to search Music, Videos, Apps, Notes, Calendar Events. Not Safari though

if you have apps past the 9 pages that aren't visible in any way, will they come up in spotlight? That could be a solution to the problem, but wouldn't be the perfect one.

I would have to try it later. But that would be no good unless you remember all the apps past the 9 pages

Now what fun would that be? :)
Like I said the blog got it's hands on 3.0 beta. I just played with it and wrote on it.
Also I think I just got an email from Apple. OK never mind it was some random idiot.
On the other side did anyone notice that the Stocks icon was tweaked?
    Also TTR2 sucks on 3.0

OK I have bad news. It's too long to post here. But if you have a 3G or 2G Touch; be happy. If you have the older devices ; not good. Link's in the sig for those who want the details. I would post here but I think it's more than the word limit here is.

I read your article - I hope Apple improves the 3.0 build before release :(.

    Edit:
So let me get this straight. You still get 9 pages of app pages. Spotlight is a 10th page, but is more like a page 0, right?

They will most likely fix it.

OK; you have what you have now. Spotlight is before the first page; page 0 I guess. You can use it for searching only. That's it.
