This is like a super polished 3D version. Just not quite sure about the iap yet, wish it had a premium price. Origin8 Well-Known Member Feb 27, 2009 129 0 0 London, UK http://www.Origin8.com #5 Origin8, Dec 8, 2016 Hi, we're the developer of Solar Siege, thanks for your comments we are always looking for feedback so please all let us know what you think of our new game, it's our first free to download game. We already have an update in the pipeline with some bug fixes and reduced ads near the start of the campaign. We realised that when the levels are very short it can be off-putting seeing ads so frequently. Also, I'd like to say a bit about the IAP. We wanted to give the player maximum choices for how to play or pay. There is nothing locked or timed to force you to pay anything. The game levels are freely accessible for 5 levels, and then you can buy each new level for in-game currency earned through normal gameplay, or daily missions. If you are after a premium style experience we have a campaign purchase available for $3 which will auto-buy the entire 18 level campaign for you, so you can play through the whole campaign and save your currency for other stuff like upgrades. The gem purchases are purely optional accelerators. If you want to instantly upgrade everything to max and power through the higher difficulties then these are for you. We have realised since release that even seeing some of the more expensive gem packs can be off-putting to some players and maybe even make people assume that this game is designed as a money sink, which is not the case. We are considering removing some of the more expensive packs from the shop completely and would love to hear what you guys think about it, and the payment model in general. Thanks and we hope you enjoy the game! I like the little twists from a typical tower defense game like mining, shipyards, etc, and even though this is my first experience with this dev team, they seem pretty committed and I love how they don't push the premium IAP on you. Now, time to go buy the campaign unlock and fight more space pirates. Silver99 Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2014 220 0 0 #8 Silver99, Dec 8, 2016 Im not your typical game player, I think. I don't like free to play because of the uncertainty about what Im getting. Any that show iap that's in the 100 dollar mark, I tend to shun. It's partly a fear that I will accidentally press a button and buy it maybe. Haha. I also don't understand why the game description never seems to give the beautiful detail you have in your comment telling us precisely what your aim is with the iap and what a player will get once they buy it. THAT is what all these free games should do, if they are honest. I mean, why not? It helps us see what we are buying. Honesty and clarity will pay you dividends IMO. Unless apple restricts the number of words in your game description? Also when I go to look on the store, no iaps are listed at all. Perhaps thats an opening glitch with new games? If it is possible, consider adding a summary of what the iap does in your description. It may help people decide whether to download. At the end of the description, of course. Some wont see it but the ones who are on the fence might be like me and search for those details. Origin8 Well-Known Member Feb 27, 2009 129 0 0 London, UK http://www.Origin8.com #9 Origin8, Dec 8, 2016 This feedback is like gold dust to us, thanks for that. We spend so long making the game that often the description contents are an afterthought. We assumed as it's free people would just download it and try it for themselves. You are completely correct in that including this information can only be a good thing. We have submitted an update that is awaiting apple approval which contains the updated description, less ads and we have completely removed the two biggest gem packs from the game. This update is already live on Google Play if any of you have the android version. However, once you go premium all the timers, ads and other freemium elements should be gone. Silver99 Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2014 220 0 0 #18 Silver99, Dec 9, 2016 To me premium means no ads. The few f2p games Ive tried the ads get in the way of enjoyment. I dont know what is fair to price it at, and being in australia, 3.99 often ends up around 6.99 but Id like to see ad removal for sure. That would make me more likely to buy. Maybe an ad removal price and a bundled one where you get that and the campaigns as premium? Silver99 Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2014 220 0 0 #19 Silver99, Dec 9, 2016 It seems as if that should be standard even before people buy. Ridiculous to sell something and not reveal what youre buying, or may have to buy to get the full experience, at the time of purchase. Apple's design fault though in this case. joseywales Member Aug 17, 2016 8 0 0 #20 joseywales, Dec 9, 2016 $2.99 for a full game? Bought. I do think this should remove ads though if it's called premium. Maybe add another couple bucks for ad removal? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
