Marc Vaughan Well-Known Member Apr 15, 2010 517 0 0 #5 Marc Vaughan, Nov 17, 2016 There are two games we do on mobile devices - FMM2017 is 'my baby' and its a slightly slimmed down management simulation more akin to our earlier management games back in 2001 ... its a lighter less intensive experience, while still being realistic. FMM is available on both Mobile Phone and tablet and you can transfer games between the two (on iOS you can use the cloud, Android has to be done manually at present). FMT2017 is only available on tablets and is a port of the FMT PC game mode to tablets. Which you'll prefer to use is entirely up to yourself. It just misses too much from the real game and you never feel like the tactical decisions you make have an impact, and are solely there as a gimmick. The match engine also leaves a lot tonne desired. As a streamlined mobile game, and for those not in love with the full version, I am sure this game is a good buy for you. But for those who adore the full game, a word of warning before purchasing... jamieladc Active Member May 9, 2012 26 0 1 #8 jamieladc, Nov 17, 2016 Have to agree with this. An iPhone 7 Plus is surely capable of running a more advanced version than the mobile version. The mobile version just feels too basic and that tactics are irrelevant and the game has barely changed at all in 4 years. As our phones get more and more power and speed, we have to be given the choice to download FMT. Otherwise SI will just lose costumers. I'm highly disappointed that the screens shown in ALL promos are from Plus size phones, however. My iPhone 6 still shows menus like this for 2017 instead of the streamlined menu on the side. My iPad will show that side menu, but since I like managing MLS too, I'd much rather fire up FMT. I had high hopes for FMM this year, but not getting a universal user interface and not getting MLS has really pushed me towards FMT. Until they change that way of thinking, this game will never have any valuable progression. I appreciate that this is just my opinion and that there well could be people out there that prefer it this way. But everyone I speak to has the same view as I do, so I can only go on that basis. Real fans of the franchise will very rarely settle for streamlined play, and I would have thought that audience is a lot wider than the strictly FMM users who are potentially new to the franchise. curtisrshideler Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2011 3,097 25 48 Male Video Producer/Editor Texas http://twitter.com/curtneedsaride #18 curtisrshideler, Nov 17, 2016 Yeah, I was introduced to FMM first back in 2010 or 2011 and fell in love with managing my favorite Premier League club. Seven years later, I have now been buying the full FM and FMT for my iPad. And I guess both of those have things in them that I've been wanting to see in mobile for a while now. I'm absolutely okay with the 2D match engine for FMM, but I wish we saw more similarities by now. I appreciate the small steps made this year, but probably won't buy the full IAP unlock as in years past. More than likely, I'll still just manage the one Premier League club I support as I did in 2010 or 2011, and nothing more. The rest I'll manage on FMT and/or FM. And that bums me out since I fell in love with Football Manager first on my iPhone. Marc Vaughan Well-Known Member Apr 15, 2010 517 0 0 #19 Marc Vaughan, Nov 17, 2016 The reason that the iPhone6 uses the non-HD UI is simply that the side menu is 'fiddle' on a screen that small for users with larger fingers, its purely a usability thing and its vital to me that users are able to use the UI as easily as possible on the game. Marc Vaughan Well-Known Member Apr 15, 2010 517 0 0 #20 Marc Vaughan, Nov 17, 2016 We actively listen to all feedback from users regarding our products and while a lot of FMM users enjoy our other products a fair few DO enjoy the fact that the game is slimmed down (we have a lot of ways to measure such things and also try and actively talk to our users as much as possible). We have implemented FMT for people who prefer the full-fat game on the go, however it is obviously very complicated to attempt to port a game as complex as FMT to a mobile phone and retain a usable UI (we already have to simplify and change some of the FMM UI on lower resolution phones to make things as usable as possible). I'm glad you enjoy our games and hope you continue to do so in the future. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
