Just picked it up. I needed a break from the hours of Galaga Wars I've been putting in. I expect to see you on the leaderboard, Jared. Edit: I like this quite a bit! I'm slightly disappointed there's no GC, but it looks like a stage based affair rather than a high score chaser. There were no ads for me, only a gentle nudge to support the team with coin packs, etc. There are checkpoints throughout the stages that will cost a heart (consumable), which is nice because the stages are semi-long. So you can watch ads for continues, but they aren't necessary. Looks like the premium unlock has everything you need to make it premium for $5. Considering it, but got a lot more gaming to catch up on first. What a week! Does it sync across to other devices? S-Mario Well-Known Member May 19, 2013 148 3 16 Male Game Maker Hong Kong http://www.fourfats.com #6 S-Mario, Nov 10, 2016 For Multiplayer we dont use Game Center, mostly because we want to make it easier to let iPhone/iPad players play with Android users. We're using 'Photon' for the online play they're very good with servers in the US, EU and Asia https://www.photonengine.com/en-US/Photon We want the experience to be as easy for the player as possible, so... no signing up. The flow looks like this: Click Multi > Choose Character > Choose your name (optional) > Create a new game (pick a map) OR Join a game. That's about it I'm working on 5 new stages/bosses right now and we'll be adding some kind of iCloud save function within 2 weeks. Rosso Well-Known Member Dec 17, 2010 236 12 18 #7 Rosso, Nov 10, 2016 Hmmm... Its pretty nice, but it does feel so "unprecise". Is it the hitbox of your own ship? Or the fact that touching the environment - even slightly - costs health? I will stick to Skyforce. Shoot em ups dont get better than that one.. I know most people prefer vertical shmups but I disagree and we stuck to making what we believed in. Anyway we hope you enjoy the co-op mode, the puzzle like boss fights and the tightly designed layout of the short stages! And do tell us anything that pisses you off or any part that's too frustrating, any place that you die more than 5 times. cheers! I'm up to level 5, and so far the game has been great fun, and full of loving tributes to classic shooters like r-type, UN squadron, and others. The cheeky Robocop references are appreciated as well! S-Mario Well-Known Member May 19, 2013 148 3 16 Male Game Maker Hong Kong http://www.fourfats.com #15 S-Mario, Nov 10, 2016 It's $4.99 for the premium (all characters and some other stuff), that will get more value as we add some content to the game We wanted to port the original to Android but it was written in CoCos2D (not X) so it would have taken us too long... in the end we built a new game with multiplayer from scratch and Toon Shooters 2 was done in around 12 weeks. It's available on Android as well but not sure if that was normal to discuss on Touch Arcade it's over here on Google: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mooffgames.toonshooter2 and here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Toon-Shooters-2-The-Freelancers/dp/B01N8T6FLO It's just a 43MB download on android so I'm kinda proud about that considering a huge chunk is taken up by just running Unity Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #16 Royce, Nov 10, 2016 Great follow up to a classic. However, my multiplayer experience hasn't been great so far. My first game, when we reached "Brain" it kept teleporting around and on top of me. Seemed like a server issue, but it was also teleporting offscreen which seems like a more serious glitch than simple lag. TheSop Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2016 264 0 16 #17 TheSop, Nov 10, 2016 So does this game not have Game Center at all or just not for multiplayer? (Not a bad thing as I hate it). What happens to our online stats and single player progress at the moment if we delete the game? I'm guessing single player gets deleted but what about online?
