We have a fix going through Apple review process right now and it should be available through app update really really soon. Apparently what happened is that one of us accidentally hit the release button on a wrong, older version and it got published. After resetting my iPad, it appears that the purchase was successful after all, since I no longer see the "unlock" button for episodes 2-4. I will keep my fingers crossed that the purchase indeed worked.
