Your skills of running, dashing, and jumping won't fail you...most of the time. Sell the fruit and veggies you collect in your farm for profit, unlock over 30 characters, complete dozens of challenges, and build the biggest and best farm you can! Harvest features a range of accessibility options such as: - Colourblind modes - Optional Screen shake - Touch Sensitivity - A unique feature called Game Direction. Most runners see the player running from the left of the screen to the right, but Harvest can do both. We believe mobile games shouldn’t be excluded from featuring the range of settings you would see in a typical console or PC game. If I'm lucky, then I might make a 'lucky' jump or two (forget about 'jump' challenges that require you to hop onto objects). I've adjusted the 'touch sensitivity' slider, but I'm still having the same problem. willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #3 willmesilane, Oct 21, 2016 Hey thanks for the feedback (I'm the dev). I'm pretty dedicated to working out and solving any issues with Harvest as much as I can. I would like to let you know that I've had a few people bring the jump function of the game to my attention as an area I need to improve, and that's what I intend to do! I hope I can make this fun and as responsive as possible for everyone, so please don't hesitate to be super critical or tell me any issues you have with the controls. slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #4 slamraman, Oct 21, 2016 like it - but i do keep swiping up to jump. Perhaps a left hand swipe up to jump or something. I did get a 'watch ad' to continue thing. Can this be gotten round like the Nitrome kind of thing via a no-ads IAP or suchlike? Nice little runner though and if you don't mind ads to continue then it's pretty cool. verlaine Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2012 216 1 18 #5 verlaine, Oct 22, 2016 Hey, thanks for the reply I really do think Harvest holds a lot of promise. For me, it's only the jump function that's the issue. Other than that, I can imagine coming back for even more retries once the jump function becomes more responsive. Thank you very much for your time and effort in developing the app and for answering questions willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #6 willmesilane, Oct 22, 2016 I haven't really entertained the idea of having an IAP to remove ads, but I'll definitely consider it in the future. And as far as controls go, I have always wanted to put in alternate control schemes so this post is extra incentive to do so! Thanks heaps for playing! No problem at all! I really want to interface with the players as much as I can so I can make Harvest as rad as possible. I'm going to be looking into making jumping better as soon as I can! Thanks for the kind words, they mean a huge huge deal to me! N0rMaL New Member Feb 6, 2011 4 0 0 #7 N0rMaL, Oct 22, 2016 Seems like a fun game so far. The jump is incredibly irritating. Tap to jump seems to work just fine until obstacles appear, then forget it. willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #8 willmesilane, Oct 23, 2016 Cool! The amount of concerns over the jump have definitely made it zoom all the way up my list of priorities! Thanks for playing, if there's anything else you like / dislike about Harvest I'd love to know about it. xxteargodxx Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2011 349 0 16 Male NJ #9 xxteargodxx, Oct 25, 2016 Just dropping in to say this is a fun game, while I do enjoy it I'm not sure I'll be sticking to it and keeping it on my iPad. The thing I don't like is how the tractor shows up when I'm doing fine in the game (avoiding obstacles). I don't know if I have to collect produce to keep the tractor from appearing or what, but what I feel is like in Subway Surfers I shouldn't be tailed so to speak unless I mess up. willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #10 willmesilane, Oct 25, 2016 Hey thanks! Reading that it is actually fun is super encouraging and a great thing to hear. This is some great feedback that I'll be keeping in mind moving forward, since I'm doing everything I can to make Harvest better over time. It's always kind of incredible how different feedback is from players vs testers. xxteargodxx Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2011 349 0 16 Male NJ #11 xxteargodxx, Oct 26, 2016 Any time, I certainly don't mind giving feedback when in the mood to at least and if I can remember lol. I appreciate you're effort you are putting into the game and time on the forums reading feedback. For that I'll keep the game on my iPad. willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #12 willmesilane, Oct 26, 2016 Oh my thank you! And just for anybody else reading this as well, I've looked into the issues with jumping and can see exactly what you all mean. I've been working hard the last couple of days and am confident I'll have a fix up by the end of the week! ParanormalGames Active Member Jan 5, 2014 36 0 6 Indie Developer Adelaide, Australia #13 ParanormalGames, Oct 26, 2016 I'm the same the jump responsiveness isn't there let's the game down also could also be spacing of obstacles being too hard to soon or a combo of both, makes it feel like I'm stumbling around the whole time. slammajamma28 Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2013 729 1 18 Software Developer 'Murrica #14 slammajamma28, Oct 27, 2016 Agreed. Perhaps the ability to switch lanes while mid-air would help out with that. Thanks for making pineapples one of the foods willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #15 willmesilane, Oct 27, 2016 No problem I want to improve the visuals of the pineapple farm some day but I'm pretty happy I put it in there too. As for lane switching while mid-air, I might experiment with it in the future. For now, I'm fairly confident I've fixed a lot of problems with the controls, and tweaked / refined things way more that I'll be putting in a patch to send off for review in the next day or so! caitlin New Member Sep 18, 2010 2 0 0 #16 caitlin, Oct 28, 2016 I can't figure out what a "hop" means? willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #17 willmesilane, Oct 29, 2016 It means you've gotta jump and hop on top of the item in the challenge I'm changing it to "bounce" in the next minor update so it hopefully avoids any future confusion. willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #18 willmesilane, Nov 2, 2016 Hey everybody! I just wanted to come in to say an update for Harvest that has a lot of control improvements is now live on the app store! I would love to hear if the responsiveness of the jump is fixed, and if any misc things with the controls in general have been improved! I've spent a whole lot of time tuning them over the last week or so! There's some other, new control features too like on-screen buttons that have a scale slider as well in case y'all wanna play the game like that. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #19 Stronsay, Nov 2, 2016 Have only just installed this so don't know what it was like before. Controls all seem to work fine. No problems with jumping once I got the timing right. I use all-button control as I find that easier than swiping on the iPad. willmesilane Member Jan 17, 2016 15 0 0 #20 willmesilane, Nov 2, 2016 Excellent! I'm really glad that you haven't had any issues and are utilising the alternate control schemes. I made them for people such as yourself, so I'm really really happy it makes things easier for you!
