This one feels like the same as last year, though with the addition of uniforms and a revamped controls (QUICK GAME). I don't know what to feel about this. jwbrent Well-Known Member Sep 16, 2008 167 4 16 California #8 jwbrent, Sep 23, 2016 I just played a quick game using the Lakers. I thought there may be a chance the IOS version was being rushed due to the early release, so it wasn't surprising to see Byron Scott still as coach or Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams still with the sunburned looking faces; I do hope a pending update addresses this. I'm having some trouble with the new control scheme since I'm so used to the last couple year's iterations. The placement of the pass and shoot buttons are different, so I have to keep looking down to make sure I'm pressing the right button. The right stick is gone and sprinting now requires a constant press on the button. I do think the graphics are slightly better in terms of player movement. The menu options have been improved with the elimination of the annoying, stuttering manner in 2K16. Regarding the roster for the Lakers, it's pretty up to date with the notable exception of Yi Jianlian. Brandon Ingram looks too pale in the game, but the announcer uses his name instead of "Number 14." I'm a big Jordan Clarkson fan and he's established himself as a very good player during his two years in the league, but 2K still hasn't added his name, so the announcer uses the generic calling. Also, his rating is very low at a 70 with most of the other younger players having a higher rating even though Clarkson's numbers have been better over the last two seasons. Glad to be playing 2K17 on my iPad mini 4; I look forward to the updates I'm sure will be coming ... I remember 2K16 was a separate purchase for Apple TV. Is it the same for 2K17? Will you have to buy 2K17 for iPhone/iPad and Apple TV? And_75 Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2009 186 2 18 L.A. #11 And_75, Sep 23, 2016 to me it looks the same as last year, courts have not been updated (Timberwolves for example) and the Indiana pacers court is still broken (one paint is not completed, same as last year) They have changed the controls, but without adding anything. You still can't call a play (even though you can set " manual plays" in the coaching setting during a timeout, but then there is no way to call a play??) Also, in season mode, there is still no way to check the season leaders by stats, really 2k? Only nice addition are the alternate uniforms, but most of them are locked. Seems kinda lazy, but Im hoping they will improve it with updates Pst-2 Member Aug 26, 2015 10 0 0 #12 Pst-2, Sep 23, 2016 New players? Are the 2016 draftees on the teams yet? How do you even cross over now? Just by pressing the dribble/sprint button? And then it automatically chooses the perfect cross over for you? And I hate it when on defense, when you are pressing and holding Def. Assist, that it automatically changes the player depending who is holding the ball. Or you can turn that off? And idk if its just me, I find the controls kind a unresponsive. whitemagician1 New Member Mar 31, 2015 1 0 1 #16 whitemagician1, Sep 23, 2016 Career mode What changed there ? They finally solved my biggest problem with NBA 2K games, defense. Defense, for me, always consisted of run past my coverage, run back past my coverage, run back past my coverage, hope he misses the open shot so I can grab the rebound. The new defense assist button keeps me with my man, not constantly orbiting him like an idiot. That's all I wanted! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
