My first game lasted 55 days even though my people were all sick for much of it and I had zero first aid kits. It gets repetitive and feels a little unfinished. I like the idea, but I just think it could have been executed better. Maybe try it on a harder difficulty if you play? There's a lot of flexibility for ways to play *if* you like it enough to try different options. Also, I highly recommend playing on iPad if you can -- the notebook fits on the screen and you don't have to scroll every page. Thanks for the video. The tutorial only lasted 11 days, so I didn't expect my first real game to last 55! Otherwise I would have chosen my iPad to play on. It gives you time to learn the ropes. I'm still awful at gathering things for the shelter, but it tells you about rationing, etc for once you're down there. I reaaaally wish I noticed that a lot sooner. But hopefully that info helps anyone else playing on iPhone. sobriquet Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2015 1,216 1 38 #8 sobriquet, Sep 23, 2016 Last edited: Sep 23, 2016 So you're still playing, any more impressions? I watched you video (all of it) and your seemed kind of frustrated with it by the end. What struck me as odd is it seems that if you don't grab the right stuff or enough of it in the scavenge part you might as well just exit and start over because you will have an unsuccessful and frustrating play trough. I took a look at the App Store description and noticed the iPhone screenshots showed the whole journal page, so I messed around to see if I could manage that and lo and behold, you can pinch to zoom out. I just never thought to try it before. My main frustration with it was how repetitive it was in that single game. How many times did I get those two messages about the radio even when I didn't *have* a radio? Or asked me if I want to prepare for an expedition even though I had no one available who could go? I think if the game filtered out those things (and especially duplicates of the same events/descriptions within the same game), I might enjoy it more. It's just way too random, like they hardly bothered putting any restrictions on the randomization. And that my characters were sick for so long? I don't think I should have survived 55 days in the awful shape they were in. It's a fun idea, but I think poorly executed. It's meant to be replayed over and over (there are a lot of achievements), but once was plenty for me. I should also mention that you can choose to just play the survival mode with the shelter pre-stocked. If you don't like the 60-second part of the game. It looks like that starts you off fairly balanced -- but is it really needed if I could last 55 days so poorly prepared? Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #11 Dailon80, Sep 23, 2016 I can understand what you're saying for sure There's a randomness and sometimes repetitive nature to it all and I wish once inside the shelter it was more than just everyone sitting around in other words you could move around and interact with things that way and when you send someone to surface you could at least get a glimpse of what's going on up there It's an okay game and I'm not hating on it skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #12 skoptic, Sep 24, 2016 Emailed developer, got really quick reply. You can zoom out view of journal on iPhone so it all fits on screen - much nicer! The zoom setting is persistent per session so no need to adjust each day, but if you close out app you do have to zoom out again. I made 52 days on my 1st go (fat boy setting) Looking at the achievements and inventory there's a lot of story I haven't touched. I'm awful at the 60 second pickup section! Looking forward to playing more - it's a nice little game with a good sense of humour.
