It seems to only have multiplayer. A single player mode for practice would be great. Faffery Member Apr 16, 2015 19 0 0 #3 Faffery, Jan 7, 2017 Im enjoying this. The gameplay is simple and fast-paced. The one thing that annoys me is whenever I try to stream to mobcrush, it turns on the mic and camera, and wont let you turn them off until the stream starts. Faffery Member Apr 16, 2015 19 0 0 #4 Faffery, Jan 9, 2017 I was worried about the letter upgrading system getting ridiculous at higher levels - looks like I didn't have to wait that long Faffery Member Apr 16, 2015 19 0 0 #5 Faffery, Jan 9, 2017 (Messed up attaching the photo) Attached Files: IMG_8097.PNG File size: 425.6 KB Views: 33 kurrrt Member Feb 19, 2015 5 0 0 #6 kurrrt, Jan 10, 2017 Hi Faffery! We're a small studio in NYC and we've never made a game this big. So thank you thank you thank you for giving it a try and, more importantly, posting feedback so we can see what your experience is so far. 1) You mentioned the letter upgrade system feeling rediculous at higher levels. Can you tell me a bit more about that? Do you see players making crazy huge points off words compared to you? 2) The screen shot you posted shows you losing to a player who made three words. Does that seem like a consistent event? Is it more like 1/5 matches, 1/10 matches. 3) Some of the issue also comes from the fact that we don't have an awful lot of players yet. We're spending furiously to increase the amount of players online, but as online games go, you really need a lot a lot to make the flow feel consistent. -- short answer, you may be playing with higher level players because that was the closest player to you at that given moment. Either way, let me take a moment to appologize for the experience not being what you expected. I hope you'll stick with us and keep providing feedback. You'll see, we are so very comitted to this game. We really want it to succeed and bring something new to the word game genre. Thanks again for your posts and your time. I wish I could figure out how I could lose a game against someone, when you can see in the review that I had more points... It's bizarre, and this happens quite a lot - it seems that I have to make way more points to win than my opponent. For example, it seems they need to reach 80 points, yet for me to win I must reach 130-150?? Omg that would make me so mad. Jtkjager New Member Jan 16, 2017 1 0 0 #9 Jtkjager, Jan 16, 2017 I lose even though I have more points? I cannot win games anymore. For the past two days I have lost all my games even though I make more words and have more points than my opponents. Is there some other factor that determines the winner other than the total end points? Faffery Member Apr 16, 2015 19 0 0 #10 Faffery, Jan 16, 2017 Hey Kurt, thanks for responding. I actually kept going for a while, but once in while (maybe after six or seven games?) Id run into someone whose letters were more upgraded than mine, then Id lose having made more long words. That first three word loss stuck with me, though, and in the end I stopped playing because the endgame seemed like it would be who can tap out short words the fastest. I think it would have been better if the upgrades didn't affect the score. Faffery Member Apr 16, 2015 19 0 0 #11 Faffery, Jan 17, 2017 I gave it some thought. To avoid alienating those who already have upgraded letters, I'd suggest having two modes: a classic mode with the current gameplay, and a challenge mode where letter cosmetics are retained, but the points remain the same. The ranking for these would be separate. To keep things interesting, maybe you could think of a fancy stats page which gets upgraded as your ranking and letter upgrades improve. To incentivise playing both modes, the visual upgrades on the page could be segregated by classic and challenge mode. You could show a list of these for players you've recently played against. kurrrt Member Feb 19, 2015 5 0 0 #12 kurrrt, Jan 18, 2017 We released a new update this afternoon that should fix the issue with players losing even though they made more word points. It wasn't a bug. We have been planning to push Letter Club to be health based. The very first, and no longer available version, of Letter Club had a tug of war style bar. That worked well enough, but we found too many matches felt like they bounced around the center, not really giving a feeling of excitement. We started to switch over to health and in the previous update, we had the beginnings of it. As players go up in arenas they would have higher health. Since it's an online game, we didn't anticipate how many players from two separate arenas would play against each other. This means, if you play someone with more health than you, you could make more points but they still win because they have more health left over. In this latest update we removed the total word points earned in a match (this is somewhat temporary until we truly solidify how to visualize health). We've replaced it with the health bars now, so you can see who won. We've also added sunglasses that can boost letter values and redesigned avatars so they can affect health as you level them up. I hope this fixes the lose issues for everyone who has posted here and took Letter Club for a spin. Let me know if this latest update addresses the issue and makes sense. Abiboo New Member Feb 5, 2017 1 0 1 #13 Abiboo, Feb 5, 2017 Love this game!! Hey Kurt & simple machine team, My husband and I are addicted to this game and (don't tell him) I have spent quite a lot of money on gems to upgrade my letters. We love it. I've reached level 6 with the basic avatar and now have 411 points out of the 400 required to upgrade to level 7 but there's no option to upgrade anymore. Is this because of insufficient coins or because level 6 is the top level? I don't want to have to start again with a "lesser" avatar that doesn't have as good a health, I'd like to continue upgrading this guy Thanks, Letter club addictee (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
