It has to have an online connection. It's the point. Lost Portal is what you want. rangent Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2009 101 1 18 #4 rangent, Sep 11, 2016 Having a hard time playing this and not constantly comparing it to Hearthstone. How does it differ? Pitta Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2008 3,420 148 63 Male Italy #5 Pitta, Sep 11, 2016 I'm liking this a lot. Besides some problems during the tutorial (sometimes the hologram covers the card and you can't dismiss it but it's minor) it's super slick and polished, it's like a hardcore scifi Heartstone. Really liking the races differences and absolutely loving the animations, sounds and voices. Gameplay is similar to Heartstone with added tactics cards (very cool). The only thing I miss is adding friends from Gamecenter, would be cool. A SP campaign would be fantastic too, but the AI is competent so far. The cards are fantastic. saansilt ð® Spam Police ð Mar 23, 2013 3,291 0 36 #6 saansilt, Sep 11, 2016 I am liking this dealie. Just won a game when an opponent had two screens and four beasties out by using the sniper and chipping away is last health. Great swing card that sniper. 2 cost 1 damage 2 health. And can hit any target for one damage. It's not just "also a CCG", it literally takes most of its mechanics and balancing from HS. Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #8 Snotty128, Sep 11, 2016 To be fair, hearthstone didnt appear out if the aether as a completely new genre, it was an evolution of an established genre. Star crusade isnt really an evolution at all though. Its more of the same, which is fine if you enjoy these kinds of games Rawk GWJ Well-Known Member Feb 9, 2014 335 0 16 #9 Rawk GWJ, Sep 11, 2016 I'm a HUGE fan of Hearthstone. There is no way that this will replace HS for me. But I am interested in their drafting mode. Has anyone played it? Is it identical to the HS arena mode? Or did they do something more interesting? MintCity Well-Known Member Jun 24, 2016 200 1 18 #10 MintCity, Sep 12, 2016 I tried out this game for a few minutes and it is basically a re-skin of hearthstone. However, your class or hero has more than one power that they can use depending on the energy they have. The cards are more affordable to purchase as well. It's not different enough for me to continue though. LOVE Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2012 52 0 0 #11 LOVE, Sep 12, 2016 Try these codes to get gold, dust and boosters (not referral codes). The first one worked, but the rest apparently have expired. Mistrija Active Member Jan 31, 2014 35 0 6 #13 Mistrija, Sep 12, 2016 I just played it a bit...do not see hot it's quite deeper compared to HS as some people says, it is, but slightly at best. Still far away by complexity from MTG, which is OK. Just acknowledging it. Might be more rewarding in gold vs HS or something...sill I haven't kept it to find out. But only just for very subjective reason; space setting really isn't my cup of tea. Visually I liked squared minions better as I found HS ones bein not so card-ish with their egg like shapes which is my only complaint about HS look LOVE Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2012 52 0 0 #14 LOVE, Sep 12, 2016 They are very time sensitive. Noah Well-Known Member Sep 30, 2008 553 3 18 Male Development Manager Atlanta, GA http://hello.wordpress.com #17 Noah, Sep 12, 2016 I read this plays a lot like Hearthstone. I assume that's the inspiration? Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #18 Snotty128, Sep 12, 2016 Inspiration would be the polite way of putting it. Others will no doubt insist it is an imitation. I saw a deck list post and thought it worth sharing. They claim you can build a few top tier decks for as little as 250 scrap. Other top tier decks run into the thousands. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=749219479 countBasil Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Aug 30, 2012 80 0 6 #19 countBasil, Sep 13, 2016 Last edited: Sep 13, 2016 Star Crusade CCG (by ZiMAD) There is a great deal that is essentially identical to Hearthstone (though things are renamed), but there are some interesting additions such as a separate energy system (apart from mana/"supplies") that builds when units are lost and which persists across turns. This energy lets you activate your, er, hero powers, of which you can have more than one. There is another layer of strategy added when you have to decide whether to save that energy in a given turn or save and build it up so you can use a more powerful power later, etc. Also, in just the few games I played, I saw that one of the races was associated with "psychic energy" which was another type of resource that can be used to activate certain kinds of power (or serve to determine the magnitude of a power). It was also nice to see that there were other constructs besides ships and guns So although I agree that at first, it appears to be Hearthstone in Space, I think there is a lot of potential for a variety if you get into it. Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #20 Snotty128, Sep 13, 2016 If you go to settings in the bottom right, then special codes, you can put in a mentor code. If you have a mentor, and level up a commander to level 26 then you get 5 free booster packs. My mentor code is 99aa7c16-8b59-40f8-a519-9cf9590c3135 It says I also get a reward if you succeed, but I dont know what reward. If you dont use my code then make sure you sign up with someone else. 5 boosters is a lot of boosters. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
