It does pretty much everything that gives mobile games a bad name for mainstream gamers. They take a beloved franchise (Final Fantasy), then add some overly simplified gameplay, then a lot of iap options with slotmachine mechanics and a silly cringe worthy story. Also the game treats you like a total dumbass by explaining the most simple gameplay mechanics over and over again. Even the actual gameplay is broken, because of the way the pinball area's are designed. The ball just bounces between both parts of the screen, without landing back on the ground. Square Enix know this, because there is a reset ball button, instead of actually fixing the level. So when you launch your next ball the same thing happens again. I will give it a go later anyway but this made my final fantasy day not as good Skinypupy Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2010 65 2 8 #4 Skinypupy, Aug 30, 2016 I'd agree with this assessment. There's no real gameplay here, just a weird mix of pachinko, pinball, and RPG. The characters and their over-exaggerated stereotypes are annoying as hell, and there's a whole bunch of freemium elements at play. I'm a huge fan of nearly everything Final Fantasy, and I deleted it after 30 mins. It might be vaguely amusing in the context of FFXV (as a mini-game that is a minor distraction), but it's certainly not not worth your time at all as as stand-alone game. your personal robot Well-Known Member Nov 11, 2008 3,606 3 0 nonverbalist Berlin #5 your personal robot, Aug 30, 2016 Oh boy! Square, what are you doing. All your recent social games are simply the same sauce. I once again LOVE the presentation, that naive retro soundtrack is so AMAZING! The graphics scream vintage cartoon. All so wonderful. Also the gameplay idea is kind of interesting. But again, those cluttered menus are HORRIBLE! And it's basically just more of the same, with a different title. I had some fun with Exvius, until I hid the current story end. But now I would love to see a full game without all that timer crap, social features, tons of menu structures etc... As much as I love the music and graphics, bye bye random Square game no. XY. Dimaya Well-Known Member Nov 21, 2012 85 0 0 #6 Dimaya, Aug 30, 2016 This is not working for iPad? Never mind, I see it is supported. Milotorou Well-Known Member Mar 19, 2015 556 46 28 #7 Milotorou, Aug 30, 2016 Gosh this is bad... I didnt mind Brave Exvius (didnt like it but i understand why some like it), i actually like Mobius... but this... Its literaly a bad attempt at making profit, theres close to no gameplay, the characters are so annoying.... ugh... i just cant recommand this...this thing ! curtisrshideler Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2011 3,097 25 48 Male Video Producer/Editor Texas http://twitter.com/curtneedsaride #8 curtisrshideler, Aug 31, 2016 Game looks nice at times, but even All The Bravest felt like more of a game. This is just another money grab. But I don't know anyone who's actually spend money on it... Or any of their F2P games for that matter. This might have been cute if it was just an advertisement game without the F2P crap. Then at least we could all say it was just free. bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 7 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #9 bigrand1, Aug 31, 2016 Hmmmm. Welp, thanks guys for the heads' up on this one! Gotta admit, I WAS looking at this and tempted but now I'm just movin' on! Next!!!!! Skinypupy Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2010 65 2 8 #10 Skinypupy, Aug 31, 2016 Ok, I take back most of the bad things I said about Justice Monsters V...it's actually quite fun. The problem is, you have to get through what might be (no exaggeration here) the single worst tutorial I have ever seen. Ever. The first 20-30 minutes were literally so bad that I wrote the entire game off as a complete waste. Once you get past the tutorial and get into the game proper, that weird mix of pinball, pachinko, and JRPG becomes a blast to play. And so far (through the first 4 zones) I haven't seen any of the horribly annoying and grating characters that plagued the tutorial. It's got the same elements as Squares recent social RPG's, such as gatcha pulls, stamina timers, and an endless list of stats to upgrade, but the gameplay is so much fun, I hardly noticed. Drew a "super rare" (I.e. Best quality) Shiva along with a couple other Rares, and I've been tearing through the levels. About 2 hours flew by in a blink tonight as I was playing, and it definitely has that "one more level" quality to it. I'm guessing there's lots of people who get so turned off by the first intro that they never give it another shot, which is kind of a shame. The menu UI is super clunky that's my main gripe but still there is an enjoyable game somewhere (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
