It's in new games we love on the App Store. MattCason Member Jun 30, 2016 5 0 0 #3 MattCason, Aug 27, 2016 I've been playing this since yesterday and am LOVING it. There are no stamina timers, nothing to lock you out. Probably the best way I can describe it is Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes meets FTL. You have the hero aspect from Galaxy of Heroes, and you have gear and such on them you can upgrade, but then you progress through bounties in a very FTL fashion, charting out your course on a space map until you find your quarry, apprehend them, and reap the rewards. You can do this multiple times and as you get more efficient you can retain more supplies and get further along the campaign but ultimately you always run out of supplies and have to start over on a fresh campaign, which is randomized every time (again, in very FTL fashion). I am so impressed by the art direction in this game, as well. Really unique style, very colorful and endearing. I've put in probably 20+ hours into it since yesterday and am not bored with it yet in the slightest. I highly recommend it. roblambertjr New Member Mar 10, 2015 1 0 0 #4 roblambertjr, Aug 28, 2016 This game is very cool JasonLL Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2014 546 106 43 Male #5 JasonLL, Aug 28, 2016 Last edited: Aug 28, 2016 I had to try this game based on your praise and you are absolutely right. I am a big fan of FTL and played a bit of Galaxy of Heroes. Bounty Stars combines both really well and will probably hold my attention a lot longer than Galaxy of Heroes. The ship battles, which remind me a tiny bit of Plundernauts, are also very fun. I also like the out of combat moments where the game uses your crews personality skills to determine success or failure. Collecting the intel and narrowing down the search is a very cool feature that scratches that board game detective itch. I have only played for a little bit but so far its been well worth the download. MattCason Member Jun 30, 2016 5 0 0 #6 MattCason, Aug 28, 2016 Glad you're liking it! The whole space exploration aspect is a breath of fresh air for games like these. I'm also very impressed by how free and easy they are with the in-game currency. I haven't felt the slightest bit pressured to buy any. For one thing, the fact that there's no stamina and no stop-gap to make me either pay up or wait until some dratted timer runs down is a great departure from a lot of DeNA's past titles. But they throw it at you for levels gained, bounties finished, quests, daily login rewards ... I've opened up over 10 heros in the last 24 hours and all of them have been freely earned. I hope more people get stuck into this because I think it's a game with some serious legs on it. triptych Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2012 203 0 0 #7 triptych, Aug 28, 2016 Forgive the short feedback but this game is really good. It has tinges of final fantasy and star ocean without all the timers and stamina issues from other games. baldeagle86 Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 737 0 0 #8 baldeagle86, Aug 28, 2016 Just wanted to echo the other sentiments here; this game is really great so far. Great music, interesting and quite deep game play, very good designs. What are the coloured orbs... I know they to train your characters up, but whatever different colours for? Also on star map, some areas are in like a blue area/zone... What's this? JasonLL Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2014 546 106 43 Male #13 JasonLL, Aug 29, 2016 Last edited: Aug 29, 2016 Hi Bloodangel! The orbs correspond to the character class. For example training a yellow scientific character with a yellow orb will yield a much better result than using any other colour training orb. Those zones on the star map I believe are areas that are more dangerous for travel. Since your ship has a finite amount of jumps the choice of taking a more dangerous but shorter path to gather Intel or using a couple extra jumps for the safer route to piece together the location of your quarry can become a critical choice later in the campaign. FriedSushi Well-Known Member May 13, 2010 472 0 0 #14 FriedSushi, Aug 29, 2016 I'm actually really enjoying this game so far, I'm currently level 21. There are no timers, the space combat is fun and decently strategic with how you choose your skills and powerups, and they are generous with the premium currency. Definitely recommend it! cthulhufan Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Sep 5, 2013 145 0 0 Systems Engineer Missouri #15 cthulhufan, Aug 30, 2016 I agree completely. Lots to do, great for bite-size mobile gaming or longer sessions, gentle IAPs, witty, satisfying, fun. Delightful. sine909 Active Member Nov 20, 2010 40 0 6 California #19 sine909, Aug 31, 2016 I actually ran into a pretty bad bug... The game seemed to have connection troubles when it was first introducing me to the shop, and errored out. Now when I reload, their free demo currency is gone, but it doesn't recognize that I bought anything so it won't let me progress. I've closed the app, deleted, and reinstalled. It automatically picks up the previous account based on device so it just picks right up at the error - I can only progress to IAP. At this point my only option seems to be to pay cash, but from what I can tell a single character costs about $3.99 - which feels steep for a game that's just a bug splat (to me) at this point. The few minutes I got to play looked cool. /: kei00 Member Feb 9, 2010 17 0 0 #20 kei00, Aug 31, 2016 I am at the fourth mission which has two objectives. I am having trouble with the first one which says to train up one of my pilots. I trained and I maxed one of my crew but that objective doesn't complete. Can anyone tell me exactly what I should do?
