Praised as "the offspring of Sid Meier's Civilization, Jason Rohrer's Passage, and The Legend of Zelda." Explore, find a mate, build a home, and raise a child before you die to keep your legacy going. Hero Generations is simple yet deep: 4X Strategy on the individual level. Each turn is a meaningful choice, without the tedious micromanagement. LIMITED LIFESPAN AND PERMADEATH Each move equals one year of your hero's life. Think carefully about how you spend the hero's time. Explore the world for fame and fortune, but make sure to find a mate before it's too late! GENERATIONS, MATING, AND HAVING CHILDREN Find a mate, start a family, have a child. Then take control of that child in that same world! Choosing the right mate is key, as inheritable traits (special abilities) make your child more powerful and prepared. 6 STRATEGIC PATHS Guide your hero to greatness by pursuing Strength, Love, Exploration, Wealth, Fame, and Building. CITY CRAFTING SYSTEM Construct any of 19 legacy lasting buildings next to towns to give future generations useful resources, powerful new abilities, and attract better mates. EXPANSIVE OVERWORLD Each world is procedurally generated with towns, forests, ancient ruins, heroes, and more. Discover all 6 unique Biomes (Forest, Desert, Meadow, Island, Swamp, and Volcano) through a giant overworld map. MEANING A surprising and thought-provoking experience, that explores themes of death, legacy, family, love, and more. Gorgeous hand drawn art style. There is perma-death, hence the name generations. Seems interesting indeed. rezn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Mar 8, 2014 862 6 18 Male Coder/Keyer in medical ICD 10 Reno, NV #7 rezn, Aug 18, 2016 Oh man. I can't say not to get Legend of Skyfish. I did a little testing on that one and basically love anything Crescent Moon publishes. They have very high standards. But we're going to be talking about Hero Generations here. So give me a few and I'll post some concrete thoughts. HeartShapedGames Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2016 51 0 6 Game Developer #8 HeartShapedGames, Aug 18, 2016 Awesome to see there is already a thread for our game, you guys rock. I'm excited to finally have Hero Generations on iOS, and I really think it's the best game we've ever made. The game is both a lot of fun and a bit personal, so I really hope you get into it. Let me know if you have any questions! A few cool things to point out - there is a full city crafting UI in the game with 22 special towns (check the "info" button on the build bar in game). Also, on newer devices, you may want to try turning on the nice graphical features available in the Settings (Cloud particles, Camera Bloom, Blur, and Tilt Shift Effects). But they are off by default to make sure the game runs blazing fast for everyone. There are also Gamecenter leaderboards, so I look forward to seeing how famous your heroes can get. Thanks so much and I hope you have fun with it. rezn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Mar 8, 2014 862 6 18 Male Coder/Keyer in medical ICD 10 Reno, NV #9 rezn, Aug 18, 2016 5 mins in and I'm already adoring this game quite a bit. Start off exploring the over world a bit. Finding items, money & killing enemies (so far battles are more story based than combat based). Then you meet a mate. Once you have enough loot you can go back to that mate and have a child. That child becomes your next hero and the journey continues.. Pretty darn neat if you ask me. Well worth the low $4.99 asking price in the US. I turned on all the extra bits from the beginning too. Looks gorgeous on my 6s+ running on the iOS 10 beta. rangent Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2009 101 1 18 #10 rangent, Aug 18, 2016 Diving in tomorrow if I get a chance, or more on Friday if not. I'm really enjoying all the different enemies, generations, items. It has a certain (Zelda-like) nostalgia spilled all over the place.
