Game Modes: ● Single-Player: Enjoy a traditional single-player experience. The goal is to clear 150 Lines throughout 15 Levels (10 Lines per Level). This mode will test your endurance, but also provides a convenient training opportunity to master your Tetris skills before jumping into a head-to-head battle. ● World Battle: Play against other people in head-to-head matches. The goal is to knock out your opponent before time expires by clearing as many lines as possible. If time expires before a KO occurs, the person with the most lines sent will win the match. This mode includes hassle-free matchmaking that quickly finds similarly-skilled opponents to battle against. ● Local Battle: Play face-to-face against a friend or family member using the same device. The goal is to push your opponent to the top of the Matrix, but if a winner isn't declared within the first two minutes, both players will feel the pressure of the sudden death squeeze. It's not perfect but very good, especially for tetris where you have to rely on the controls to play good enough. I disagree for the tablet only, due to enough room. They could show your column in 3/4 of the screen and the 1/4 opponent's or even smaller. You don't actually look at all on opponent's screen. Even if it was a thumbnail, it wouldn't matter. You only need to worry for opponent's lines (you have already this) and in which level of the column, the CPU / person is (bottom, top, etc). I think the controls are spot-on. Perfect for the frantic playstyle this requires. nkarafo Well-Known Member Mar 2, 2011 864 14 18 #9 nkarafo, Aug 18, 2016 Since you don't have physical buttons, the only alternative is your touch screen. It's handy in this way like they have done it. As I have said before it's not perfect but it's too playable! Please developers put a "quit" game option when defeating an opponent. Please don't force us to quit the whole application.. thumbs07 Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2010 916 0 16 UK #10 thumbs07, Aug 18, 2016 Oddly I've never been able to find my Tetris fix on the IOS. all the versions have been pretty shoddy. Downloaded this, have a feeling I've tried this version on android and it was quite intuitive after a while. touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #11 touchy85, Aug 18, 2016 You can also play it on facebook if you want. thumbs07 Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2010 916 0 16 UK #12 thumbs07, Aug 18, 2016 This is an excellent version, controls very intuitive once you get to like them. But with quite a big drawback- you can't play it offline. I hope EA did this intuitive version in an offline edition somewhere.. HelperMonkey Well-Known Member Dec 16, 2009 632 8 18 Iowa #14 HelperMonkey, Aug 18, 2016 I didn't like the control scheme at first, but it works quite well. Becomes very intuitive when playing quickly. I do think this could work on a smaller screen if they reduced the size of your opponent's play field. It's not really necessary to know what they're doing. Really, this is one of the only Tetris games that I've liked without physical controls. I still don't know who I'm playing against, though. I'm not on Facebook, and it doesn't seem to be putting me against Game Center players. Is it just an AI simulated opponent? Bethor Well-Known Member Oct 11, 2015 145 0 16 #15 Bethor, Aug 19, 2016 No, hard to play if you have big hands on a small screen. seahawksfan New Member Aug 19, 2016 1 0 0 Airplane Engineer Colorado #16 seahawksfan, Aug 19, 2016 Fun Just played for about an hour. Agree the controls are solid. Tried to jump into a game of tetris blitz after ... and kinda wish they offered the same thing. Doesn't feel like I'm playing real players, just easy AI. Generic names. Is Facebook the only way to play others? Struyk Member Nov 16, 2015 5 0 0 #19 Struyk, Aug 21, 2016 Does this even have multiplayer? Havent seen another player yet or put in a name.. HelperMonkey Well-Known Member Dec 16, 2009 632 8 18 Iowa #20 HelperMonkey, Aug 23, 2016 I thought that perhaps as I climbed the ranks I might run into more actual players. Now at rank 171, I think I have played against "facebookplayer" maybe four times. Judging by this, I don't think there is any real multiplayer competition going on. Even statistics or leaderboard score chasing would add to the competitive possibilities, but those are also lacking. So, for a game that has competitive multiplayer as its primary conceit I don't really know how to rate it. The core game is absolutely solid. The touch controls work great, and the two minute battle times are great for mobile. The unusual thing is that as good as it is in terms of a mobile-friendly set up, the side by side battle format seems to be keeping it off of phones. Since that aspect seems kind of superfluous, and apparently simulated, it just seems a bit of a waste. That said, it's my favorite Tetris game on iOS simply for the core game. I do strongly recommend it to those who enjoy Tetris and have a tablet, but any expectations for competitive play should be held in check. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
