I'm David, the developer of Rainbow Infinity and happy to be a new member in this community. I'm an independent developer from Germany, working single-handedly on my own games. More precisely most of the time I'm just piling up prototypes but in rare cases like this one I actually finish a thing! For the last two years I've worked on this game in my free time (with lots and lots of pauses) but now Rainbow Infinity 1.0 is finally done and released! Rainbow Infinity can be best described as sort of a fast-paced arcadey music(/rhythm) game. Playing it feels a bit like playing the piano as you're managing eight lanes like piano keys. On bigger screens like the ones of the new iPhones or the iPad the game can actually be played exactly like a piano (with all fingers of both hands). I'll let some gifs and the actual app store preview video speak for itself, that's much easier than trying to describe the gameplay The game is free and contains ads with the possibility to disable them. It's an universal app, features Game Center achievements and leaderboards, there are trophies to collect and new modes to unlock, each with a new gameplay element and its own soundtrack. Right now I'm already working on a free update bringing new modes to the game that play out in a very different way than the existing ones. Three difficulties, I think you need to score a certain number of total points to unlock the next one. It's essentially like a rhythm game that doesn't match up with the music (which is one of the things that annoyed me actually) and there's a really cool thing where tapping just after a certain shape hits the bottom line will get you double points; or you could just leave it. It's a nice little 'strategic' addition for high score chasers. Hard mode adds another cool little twist which can definitely confuse you if you're not paying attention! I liked this touch. Haven't unlocked extreme yet. I think it just feels a little dry right now; the graphics are nothing too special and the gameplay is mostly stuff we've seen before. It's a fun package but it doesn't leave you with too much to walk away with. If you're looking for a quick twitch fix pick this up, it's well done for what it is. esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #3 esty8nine, Aug 11, 2016 So it's just lvl based ? Or "song based "? Or is there a endless type mode to chase high score ? ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. It has the full Gamecenter treatment which is always nice. It's something else than that I always play but it's a welcome distraction from my usually gaming. I see now that Hoodloc the number two on easy is the dev. himself hi there ha ha. Congrats on your release, it should make up for the German defeat this year on the European Championship ha ha sorry could not resist. Most people I talked to got over the thing with the music relatively fast after playing for a few minutes. I'm working on additional modes that mix the gameplay up maybe that will take away a bit of the "dryness" you describe. @esty8nine Each mode has its own music and is endless. You have to reach specific scores to earn trophies and with enough trophies you unlock new modes. Of course on every mode the longer you survive the faster the game gets. @ROGER-NL Glad you're enjoying the game! It really is about training your eyes and fingers isn't it? By the way - my real highscore on easy is near 500 points, you need very fast fingers at that point. Yesterday a german site wrote about the game, they seemed to really like it! Their final paragraph roughly translates to "Rainbow Infinity is fun if you have no problem with the high difficulty. Multiple times I wanted to throw my iPhone against the wall but I always got back to give it another try. If you like games like that, the 99 cents are money well spent." esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #6 esty8nine, Aug 13, 2016 I think I'll give it a shot ! esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #7 esty8nine, Aug 21, 2016 Me and my cuz took Over the leaderboards =] now to unlock the hardest mode Hoodloc New Member Aug 6, 2016 4 0 0 game developer germany https://birdboygames.com #8 Hoodloc, Sep 22, 2016 Hey Toucharcaders! Making the game paid unfortunately didn't work out at all. I had to adjust and make the game free with ads and the possibility to remove them. If you've bought the game, have it installed and simply update to the new version, ads will be disabled for you automatically. If you want to give Rainbow Infinity a shot, now's the perfect time!
