Congratulations on the release! Unfortunately, I don't have iOS 9 so I can't get this. However, I wish you guys the best of luck in your future endeavors! drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,200 7 38 #3 drelbs, Jul 27, 2016 All the fantastic gameplay of The Quest with HD graphics, it truly is glorious! I can't recommend this one enough for iPad owning RPG fans. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #4 ojtitus, Jul 27, 2016 Nice, finally able to delete the original off my iPad mini4. stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #5 stubbieoz, Jul 27, 2016 I have the original iPhone version as well as the new Steam version (which is what the iPad version is based on). I was involved in the beta testing as well. I can assure any one who loves this style of game that they will not be disappointed with this version. This is an old school turn based dungeon/open world crawler like the old Might and Magic series before Mandate of Heaven. The game plays flawless on new iPads and even from my own testing it plays okay on an iPad 2! The graphics are now incredible. Also the game can be saved at any time, which I think always deserves an extra star in a games rating. You can also make notations on your map now. And the game has had a lot of updates during its life and balance issues have been sorted out. Bugs....well I found none at all during my beta testing. And just to reiterate ...the game looks incredible. A couple of negatives though. The quest logging is not all that great, and does not always update itself when a quest progresses. I found taking screenshots of npc conversations helps. Also the interface could do with a bit of tweaking. It is a bit clumsy when trying to cast spells for instance. But it becomes second nature after some time. This game is total premium with no iap's. Don't be put off by the high inital cost compared to other games on the App Store. You get a lot of game for your money and if you like this style of game, you wont be disappointed. This game gets a 5 star from me. Or is it more focused on combat? stubbieoz Well-Known Member Jun 23, 2015 1,880 358 83 Male Grey haired gamer NSW Australia #8 stubbieoz, Jul 28, 2016 The game has a very well developed main storyline. I find it very easy to get immersed in the whole world and the character I play as. The side quests are not just fetch 'em type quests but actually add to the main story. Some quests have multiple options which affect the outcome. Character creation is quite involved and you can easily create a genuine unique character. Character portraits though are very limited and I think, uninspiring. However, just like in the Steam version, it is relatively easy to add custom portraits to the games folder, in this case via iTunes. Instructions are on The Quest forums. The combat in my opinion is well balanced and provides enough strategy and challenge to make it more than just a click fest, something that can happen quite often in other similar games. There is a lite (free) version available for iPhone and iPad, though it uses the old graphics and is in a x2 screen on the iPad, but it will give you an idea of what the game is like and I suggest you try it first before forking out your money. Though keep in mind that this new version is a 100% improvement graphically on an iPad, and looks exactly as good as the Steam version. eugenemcardle Well-Known Member May 21, 2013 357 9 18 Retired, Math/Science Teacher, Air Force Electron Redcliffe Queensland Australia #9 eugenemcardle, Jul 28, 2016 Very, it's the best rpg out there by a mile. The day has FINALLY come! Congratulations on the iOS release! I'm really hoping that you eventually plan to also release an iPhone version as well. I still play the original, and there's just something magical about having this HUGE fantasy world snug in my pocket. Stupid question, but it'd be really awesome if it was possible. Can I transfer my saved game from the old version to the new one? I'm guessing no, but I just had to ask. gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #20 gmattergames, Jul 28, 2016 Perhaps just me, but game seems to hate my battery. Always liked the original, buts seems more playable, perhaps due to the ui enhancements. Never finished the main quest before, so this should be a treat. For those unfamiliar or curious, plenty of story, significant npc dialogue interaction and more tomes than you'll want to read. And in the spirit of its old-school rpg roots, quest support is limited to a journal; don't expect much hand-holding, mini-map quest markers, etc; you'll have to read, It's not a twitchy action rpg, everything is turnbased, with combat and movement reminiscent of the mid-90s classic grid-based crawlers.
