You also can't save progress in middle of a game. I forced myself to lose in this video so I could take a break and still have the high score count. esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #3 esty8nine, Jul 27, 2016 Love this gem of puzzlers ! Do yourself the favor and snag it up! Relaxing, just a joy to play, and gets challenging later on. Only played one mode so far and I was already happy with my purchase! mzinn Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2014 770 0 16 #4 mzinn, Jul 27, 2016 Looks really interesting. I'll have to do some research on it. I don't really know why. Most puzzle games I just crack on with and keep playing, but I find that at the end of a game I don't particularly want to play it again immediately. AppUnwrapper Well-Known Member Oct 26, 2011 4,062 3 0 http://www.appunwrapper.com/escape-games/ #10 AppUnwrapper, Jul 27, 2016 Lol did I say that? My main issue with this game is that it's the type of game I would only play for a few minutes at a time -- but, as seen in my video, that's not possible. I won't be playing it anymore because unless I want to play for even longer than that one game in one sitting, there's no point. And I know I don't want to do that. I also need to solve another 191 puzzles to unlock one of the other modes (Playground) and 291 to unlock the other (Time Attack). Considering that video I posted was 50 puzzles (levels? I think they're the same thing?), that's not happening either. Not sure why such a huge barrier was put up to play the different modes. Unless I'm misunderstanding what counts as a single "puzzle." esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #11 esty8nine, Jul 27, 2016 I gotta say on the contrary I'm loving it and find it pretty addicting to the sounds when actually popping the pieces and elegant backgrounds. the thing keeping me from 5 staring it is like everyone said, it needs mid game saves (hope you see this dev =]) besides that one of my favorite puzzlers mzinn Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2014 770 0 16 #12 mzinn, Jul 27, 2016 Think this is a deal breaker for me too. I'd hate to get a good run going & have to lose progress b/c I had to stop playing. Hmmm darn. Dropout_Games Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Jul 6, 2015 114 1 16 #13 Dropout_Games, Jul 27, 2016 Hey Everybody! One fourth of dev team here. I see a lot of people mentioning save feature for the game but Blyss at its core is an endless game, similar to the likes of Tetris, Sky Safari and Threes! where your objective is to score as high as possible, unlock new stuff and keep progressing. So a save function wouldn't make a lot of sense for the game. What are your thoughts? KeKhan Well-Known Member May 28, 2012 1,381 43 48 #14 KeKhan, Jul 27, 2016 Shoot. Me too on this. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to this game # Most puzzle games will pick up right where you left off, and with a more strategic game like this having to start over should I need to close the app will keep me from ever starting a game. Sad, hope the dev sees this. Looks amazing in every other aspect. EDIT - oops dev posted right above! KeKhan Well-Known Member May 28, 2012 1,381 43 48 #15 KeKhan, Jul 27, 2016 Welcome and congrats on the release! I didn't realize it was an endless puzzler, doesn't really come across that way in the app description. I was thinking it was level based puzzles that I would need to solve before moving on to the next, and thus a save would be important. Hmmm. Changes things a bit. Still, the other games you mentioned are more action oriented while this seems to be a more relaxed pace. I think an autosave is still important. Especially because it's a puzzler. At some point you will lose I'm assuming, as the difficulty increases? So you should be able to pick away at it until then. Since the pace is slower, it could take a loooong time to reach that high score. Being a mobile game, the ability to open it up and continue where you left off while waiting in line or something seems crucial. Just my two cents. I haven't played it yet, just based on feedback. You start right away with a higher-number card on the table. Furthermore, Blyss is not your average endless high score chaser. It's a series of puzzles. I often like to take breaks between puzzles. Most endless games are one continuous game, so you get sucked in and don't even think of stopping until you lose. That's not the case here, since each level is a self-contained puzzle. Also, a single game can take a really long time, and we're playing on our phones, not a PC that we can just leave the game open and walk away to come back to it later. (Even that wouldn't be the best idea what with PC's restarting themselves on their own these days.) I have several endless match-3 games on my phone that automatically save progress if I close the app. KeKhan Well-Known Member May 28, 2012 1,381 43 48 #17 KeKhan, Jul 27, 2016 Thank you - exactly what I was trying to say but you are way more eloquent. Everything about this game screams "insta-buy" to me except for this one issue. ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 970 141 43 #20 ShinHadoukin, Jul 27, 2016 Just to be able to put the game down & come back to it makes sense for a mobile game, like Threes.
