I really want to try this one out! I saw previous game from Channel 4 also had a global release just few days after their softlaunching which is a bit weird to me. platyduck Member Jul 10, 2016 8 0 0 #6 platyduck, Jul 20, 2016 Last edited: Jul 20, 2016 Out in USA. Initial imps after playing for about 20 min: Very impressed so far. IAP is totally optional it seems, you can skip anything by watching a video (eg I just rushed an 8-min building timer by watching a quick video). If you're missing resources for a desired building, it even offers the option to watch video instead of gathering resources. Gameplay is fun, though maybe a bit repetitive in earliest stages (gather water. Gather wood. Gather water. Etc). Seems to be well balanced (perhaps too easy? Higher levels will tell). Quick tip: you can move any building by clicking and holding for a few seconds (similar to rearranging icons on iOS). Only bug so far was a "missing items: you need more people" window (appears when you try to queue crafting without people free) that wouldn't close. I had to force quit game to resume play. EDIT: looks like you can't rush the longer build times with a video. An hour timer offers to let me use coins to skip, but not a video. Sad. It would be nice if they let you reduce your wait time at least, maybe 50% reduction for a video. EDIT 2: the aforementioned 1-hour building timer let me skip with video once it had ticked down to about 45 min remaining. So it's still pretty generous with skips, just not unlimited. Also, the biggest pain regarding the premium currency EC is that crafting slots are limited until you unlock more with it. You will eventually earn enough through normal play, achievements, etc, but it would be nice if maybe I could watch a video to earn one EC. ImJPaul Well-Known Member May 23, 2012 840 0 16 Male MGMT! Game launched without any problems (just skipped "checking for updates" on load screen), and allows everything except buying premium currency EC and watching videos to rush. You can still complete achievements and earn EC in offline mode too, which is nice. As I grow up on a farm in Austria that was surrounded by an huge and long Forest where me and my brother spent most of our time with our friends in the local forest I kinda like that feeling that they try to create with the show also I am pretty sure that if you aren`t used to live in the woods it can be pretty hard if you aren`t used to work hard to have a roof over your head and a warm fire. I started Eden: The Game with the expectations that the Game would try to bring me that remote part of the UK closer while at the same time provide some information about the local animals I might encounter there and some information about what plants and fruits I would find there. Sadly the Game does only cover those part on the surface. Some might be ok with that but I really believe that Channel 4 should have went into an total different direction with the Game then they did in the end. Eden: The Game isn`t bad but the pacing and how the Game does open up to you is just too slow and without providing any addictional information as already mentioned before the Game does really never catched my interested while I was playing it for an hour. It turned more into an what do we need to move from this Level to the next Level instead of what do we need to survive and how much time I have for this. There are also no Night/Day cycles which does hurt the mood in the Game even more since if the TV Show is about surviving then the Night is usually something you should be prepared for and this isn`t the case at all in the Game. The sun is always shinning, no rain, no snow,no nights. Conclucsion: I know I am probably sounding like an asshole but I really believe that Channel 4's Eden: The Game should have showed you much more how you surive in the forest and build up your Camp and teach you one or two things about that remote region in the UK. Instead all you get is an pretty straight forward basic base build strategy Game where you most of the time will just stare at the screen and wait till an timer does run out so you can build/upgrade/expand an Building and then afterwards use it to create new Tools for your Camp or farm different kind of fruits or vegetable.
