I am not sure. I have been playing it straight got a few hours. Seems similar to many games but so far I am still playing it. nodoctors Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2009 1,212 28 48 #5 nodoctors, Aug 5, 2016 Ah...but is auto-battling every match truly playing a game straight for hours? We have officially entered end game. Where the video games play themselves with pretty colors in front of us and we consider it playing the game.(I'm just messing around, I also enjoy kicking back with an auto-battle in some games from time to time. But it is a very obvious trend!) triptych Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2012 203 0 0 #6 triptych, Aug 5, 2016 This is one of the few games I've played where its more fun to manual play.than.just let the auto battle run. Talaen Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2012 112 0 16 #8 Talaen, Aug 5, 2016 Nothing against this game as it isn't unique in this regard, but auto play plus energy timers equals waiting for the next time I can press the button for the game to play itself. In RPGs the grind was intended to build up you characters when they weren't strong enough to progress through the storyline and defeat a major boss. Now the grind is to work around energy constraints to be able to auto play until you are strong enough to auto play again. Don't get me wrong, there is still plenty of strategy to be found in these types of games and achievements, but it is still such a strange paradigm to me to play just long enough to get as far as you can today to come back tomorrow and press a button to play. I often pick up these games as they have great polish and sometimes a cool hook, but always drop out within a matter of days to weeks as I can't help feeling I'm not actually playing a game at all. Enough sidebar, this does look pretty cool and Nexin has shown some of the most fair F2P mechanics in recent years so might be worth a look. I'll see if I can avoid trying to save myself some time between downloading and deleting . ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #9 ramzarules, Aug 5, 2016 This is one of the better hero collecting autobattlers. -good animation -slightly more interactive skill activation (cancel enemies, synergy to allies) -different and well done artwork, with lots of cool characters, which is the biggest plus imo in this game type. You don't collect chibi narutos and chibi WoW characters, but well proportioned original characters. -the opening and tutorial give rewards like crazy, 3-4-5 star characters. -it's Nexon, so i doubt the IAP will be Gameloft or EA type. sure, it has timers and such, but all its peers have them. And in fact, it fits very well in my daily rotation of Dragon Blaze, Exos Saga and FFBExvius (my top 3 of this genre). If you like hero collecting autobattlers, don't miss this. forsakenxe Well-Known Member Oct 23, 2014 709 0 16 #10 forsakenxe, Aug 10, 2016 I come to quite like Nixon games and I like this as well. I have a question though: I bought the character pack for 300 gems and got quite some new characters but the are all around 3-4 stars with no unfixed stars like most of the ones you ge through th campaign. Are they actually good? Is a 6 stareable character better? I don't really know how to asses the value / power of a hero yet as they also have different colors etc. Other than that there are also some idle game mechanics which I really like as they reward you while not playing. having fun to see where this goes. forsakenxe Well-Known Member Oct 23, 2014 709 0 16 #11 forsakenxe, Aug 20, 2016 Last edited: Aug 20, 2016 If you like hero collecting games but want to make sure it is worth it to jump into this one, then I am here to tell you: It is. Graphics: Asian Hero Collecting Games go overboard while trying to make overly sexualized characters most of the time. And while some characters are super unproportinal in this game most of them look normal. The graphics are crisp, animations are smooth menus are well done and well structured. Overall I like the relatively normal look of the game's characters the relatively varied environments and the smoothness of animations and combat in general. 3.8/5 Sound: With one exception I really like the sound design. The music is totally fine, sound effects are fitting, combat feels impractful but I absolutely hate one of the character's sounds which is a very minor complaint. Feels fitting and I have nothing to complain here. 3.5/5 Gameplay: As with most of those games you collect heroes by completing stages or by buying contracts in the shop which give you mostly a chance of a 3-6 star characters, you get 1 free every 24 hours and can buy 11 for 300 rubies. Those characters have different abilities and skills and synergies together. You build a team of 5 charcuterie and use those in pvp against another team of 5 in the "arena" or to progress in the campaign against AI opponents. The campaign is structured in a way, that you do not have the usual three or so parts of a stage but instead it is running from one end to the other without interrupts which is a welcome change as it speeds up gameplay and invokes constant action. The skills you use have varies effects and are triggered in 3 ways: 1. You can click on some to activate them, this is what is used in most rpgs. 2. You can hold them down to charge them and then release for maximum damage. 3. You can click them once and then click again once it "aim circle" has moved below the enemy to fire. These are mechanics I didn't recall seeing before in these type of games and they become more meaningful because you can interrupt skills from the opponent by hitting them with your skills once they try to cast them. The heroes complement each other well and the variety is nice. There are also raid bosses which can be randomly discovered by you or your friends and they reward you with loot depending on the amount of damage you did to them in comparison to everybody else fighting them. The usual. For another PvE challenge there is the manatechtower which is just a straight progression to more difficult stages with greater rewards than usual but one time. This is also where you can trade your 5 (max) energy for gold depending on the stages you already completed. There are also hero barracks where you can put heroes in to get XP while you are away and there is gear to acquire though it seems fairly moderate (no grinding stages to upgrade 8 different pieces of gear) as you can evolve it with other gear and you acquire a nice amount of good stuff from the manatechtower and events etc. 4/5 Free 2 Play: Nexon is famous for their fair f2p models and this game is no exceptions. After playing for 14 days I have a full almost max leveled team of legendary 5 star heroes so collecting them is not that hard. The grind comes into play when you want to rank them up and improve them: This is done by "fragements" which are gathered on the map (very minor gain) or in the shop (you can buy the for tokens from the arena earned by winning, with gold which is plenty and with PvE tokens acquired by the manatechtower. The gold shop resets every 3 and the other 2 every 12 hours. You can also buy basically everything with diamonds which you acquire fairly regularly just by attending events and progressing naturally. The monthly package for 5 should be enough to keep you going at a constant pace. While the fragements can be acquired by doing the campaign stages and are rewarded here and there, it is relatively hard to get enough to rank up your heroes so that's the grinding part. In addition you need to have them at max level which you can fuse other heroes into your main one to level him up more quickly (this seems to go at a relatively slow pace but max level is 30 and I am sitting on a bunch of unused stuff while I still have most of them around lvl 25-28. Overall it's super fair, there is also an energy mechanic which is totally insignificant for me at least as the usual rewards of daily/weekly missions and events keep you far above this threshold for the most part. 4.5/5 Conclusion: Overall this is a pretty good hero collection game: Graphics and sounds fit well, characters are mostly in the real of "normal" (at least more normal than other games of this type) and the gameplay - though very familiar - has some unique elements to it which make it quite challenging to. I had multiplee points later in the game where I needed to fight manually as autobattle was giving me very bad results (canceling skills while simultaneously not pulling more enemies was super crucial). The f2p model is what you are used to from nexon and one of the only models I personally support. If you like those type of games, there is no reason not to give this a try. 4/5 (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
