I'm finding the controls a little difficult to get the hang of. I think it could really benefit from a relative touch controls. As it is, when you touch the other side of the screen to turn around your ship jumps up or down to where you touched. It makes it very hard to aim at anything and often results in crashing into enemies above or below you. The only way around it is to put you second digit down even with the first digit and I think that's too much. Edit: Ahh, I think I got it. Never mind about the control issue. I think It actually works really well once I got the hang of it. sobriquet Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2015 1,216 1 38 #4 sobriquet, Jul 11, 2016 Last edited: Jul 12, 2016 This is such a great game. It's a Defender inspired 2D shooter that's full of charm and personality. The animation and art style in the cut scenes reminds me of the cut scenes in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie from a few years ago. If this game had a narrator I feel it would be an old British guy. The gameplay is frantic while shooting, dodging and flying all at the same time. Game sessions are pretty quick, which is good, but the missions seem to just end without warning or reason. If there are objectives to accomplish, I haven't been able to tell what they are. It seems to be mostly about collecting the in game currency which is used to purchase boosts between missions and the number of diamonds you pick up in one full game is you score for that game. Over all, from the quirky cut scenes to the frantic gameplay, this is a solid game. jtaniguchi Active Member Jun 15, 2016 34 3 8 Canada https://appstore.com/jeffreytaniguchi #5 jtaniguchi, Jul 12, 2016 Phew. They're defo not your standard virtual buttons. Personally, I like to think they feel more like my childhood playing games on analogue controllers once you get the hang of them. The goal is pretty standard: get to the end and defeat the final boss. Unless otherwise directed, the goal for each area is to defeat all the enemies. I loved Defender back in the day, and I like the look of the art style too. Only concern is that the enemies all seem to look the same. Are there more enemy types later in the game, or do you plan to add more with new content? Very close to smashing that "buy button" right now... jtaniguchi Active Member Jun 15, 2016 34 3 8 Canada https://appstore.com/jeffreytaniguchi #7 jtaniguchi, Jul 12, 2016 There are 7 enemy types and some bosses. You encounter new enemies as you progress. Haven't decided if I'll add more or just update their behaviours to be more complex. It is completely broken. I'm using the iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3.2 and I installed the game and tapped the Icon. It starts with the phrase wake up. It doesn't say to do anything. I tap the screen. Then more words appear. I tap more. Then nothing. I stop tapping. It says wake up again. I start tapping again. It says we got your back. I keep tapping. I tap and tap and tap. I try tapping the words. I tap all over the screen but everything after a few phrases there's a pause and then I get wake up again. There's no way to skip this. It's broken. I cannot proceed. I cannot play. I'm frustrated as hell. Billy Markaronið¯ Member Sep 21, 2014 14 0 1 #9 Markaronið¯, Jul 12, 2016 bruh you need to learn about your phone or smoke another number! I'm sitting there tapping away thinking that's what I had to do to wake up. Lol It kept restarting. I was at it for over 5 minutes straight. Funny all I had to do was keep my finger on the screen. I'm playing now. Will post impressions later this evening. I want to give the game a few hours. Billy LordShad0wz Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2014 4,280 1 38 #15 LordShad0wz, Jul 12, 2016 I have to say the controls are really unique. It takes a while to train your brain but once you do they really are the best I've seen in these defender type of games. Definitely better than an analog stick. I just wanted to say that out of the gate. Nice job dev on coming up with something new that actually improves things.
