After a slumber of a million years, you wake up on America, a planet colonized by humans who fled planet Earth. In your quest to find your people, you’ll set off on a galactic adventure where you’ll meet a host of colorful characters and visit unimaginable locations. Out There Chronicles is a unique adventure set several million years before Out There. Where do the Arks come from? What are the Cubes? Fans of the original game will find answers to some questions, but others will remain a mystery. You’ll also meet various alien races and get the opportunity to learn more about their people… If you can master their language, of course. In this universe that is so far from your own in distance and in time, a sharp mind and an instinct for survival are your only weapons. Friendships can be forged and ancient rivalries re-emerge through your encounters with almost-human and less-human races. Will you be able to distinguish friend from foe? As in the original game, a single human is unable to face the forces of the universe alone. Achieve your goals by exercising diplomacy when needed, and seizing opportunities when they present themselves. Written by FibreTigre, author of the original game, Out There Chronicles offers an epic story that will delight science fiction fans in search of new experiences. Brilliantly illustrated by top French SF artist, Benjamin Carré, and equipped with a simple interface, Out There Chronicles will take you on a journey of adventure, even if you’ve never played a video game before. Features • 80 achievements • An interactive science fiction graphic novel written by FibreTigre (Out There) • A complex dialogue system: your choices can have consequences later in the adventure • Master the alien language and discover their cultures • Stunning, varied environments • Develop relationships with an array of complex characters • Revelations on the Out There universe • A simple, accessible interface • Magnificent illustrations by Benjamin Carré, the French master of science fiction • Captivating music composed by Siddhartha Barnhoorn (Antichamber, Out There…) Information Seller:Mi-Clos Studio Genre:Adventure, Role Playing Release:Jul 07, 2016 Updated:Nov 14, 2017 Version:1.0.6 Size:89.0 MB TouchArcade Rating: User Rating: (10) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #2 Exact-Psience, Jul 7, 2016 I dont instabuy much anymore, but i cant pass up a decent sci fi gamebook... What out there chronicles does great is creating a fantastic world within minutes, it's super atmospheric. If you decide to be a total douche like me, you'll fail and have to play parts of the story again. It has checkpoints so that's not really a big deal. Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #5 Exact-Psience, Jul 7, 2016 Wow... Just wow. This book has a more comic-style narrative, but it doesnt waste time and immediately etches a world into your mind as you read, and the images shown on each scene helps a lot set the mood. The art style is fantastic. The comic-style is a heavy reminder of what the original Out There was. Im only about 30 minutes in, and im really impressed. Im not one to talk about how well it is written, but i can say the pacing is really good, but that may just be on par with what im looking for in a comic-style gamebook. So far, so good, that instabuying this proved itself to be a great idea. killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,784 3 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #6 killercow, Jul 7, 2016 Given the amount of content added and the amazing experience that was Out There, I believe an instabuy is deserved here. Great to see that you like it imdakine1 Well-Known Member Aug 23, 2011 1,228 22 38 #7 imdakine1, Jul 7, 2016 I'm definitely not an instabuy person but based on the continued support from what the developer had given us with extensive support with major updates and not charging IAP which they easily could have done and many if not all would likely had bought this seems like a total no brainer! Thanks to the developers for truly committing to your original game and creating or expanding your universe for us to enjoy. In not a fan of iap but know the reason why it is necessary and the way you've expanded the original game without was amazing! Thanks again for what looks like an amazing "choose your own adventure" kind if book/game. brerlappin Well-Known Member Feb 10, 2009 722 30 28 #8 brerlappin, Jul 7, 2016 Interestingly enough, when I launched the app for the first time the language was defaulted to French! Can anyone from TA comment on the ending as i trust you guys far more? HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #13 HLW, Jul 7, 2016 Yeah the ending is rather sudden. Despite the abrupt ending, it's very good - I hope they continue it with an "episode 2" soon. One thing I will say though, I played it on iPhone, and a couple of times it looked like the background was too wide for the screen and the left part was being clipped off, e.g. at one point the end of a spaceship was off the screen (which is a shame as all the art is really great). Well all the backgrounds must be deliberately too wide for an iPhone (or else they'd be too thin for an iPad), but normally it was just scenery that was off the screen. brerlappin Well-Known Member Feb 10, 2009 722 30 28 #14 brerlappin, Jul 8, 2016 Awesome so far! Anyone know if subsequent chapters will be a new app or DLC (free or paid)? As long as you don't expect there to be a super final "and they lived happily ever after", the ending of chapter one is handled quite decently. I've enjoyed the ride very much. It did take me 2-3 hours to finish, but what was there is definitely a cool sci-fi story. They've done wonders by not taking hours to introduce you to the world. d4d Member Patreon Bronze Feb 22, 2011 17 0 1 #16 d4d, Jul 8, 2016 So good... And, yes, it is a french game. It was refreching for me to play something in french for once, and if to be better than in english. Actually, I haven't played it in english, so it is maybe as good in that language. I am left with only one question... When does chapter 2 come out? d4d Member Patreon Bronze Feb 22, 2011 17 0 1 #17 d4d, Jul 8, 2016 There is combat. We're planning to produce a whole saga. It will depend on the success of the first episode though.
