Will report back later with impressions orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #16 orangecan, Jul 6, 2016 Ok given it a quick go and it seems very much like a 'homage' to smash cops - controls are the same and its graphically a bit more of a zoomed in view. I liked smash cops a lot and so far this seems like a good premium version (it's very very similar) - you're basically given a map with missions highlighted which involve (the ones I've tried) chasing and bringing down or keeping up with suspects. After every mission you get cash and if your lucky a new car card. Looks like you can spend cash on either early upgrades or power ups but I've not investigated further yet. So far then no regrets - it looks good and controls well on the Air2 - with the caveat that I've only played for 15 mins or so it's a thumbs up from me. razorracer83 Well-Known Member Apr 14, 2013 199 0 0 New York City, New York, USA #17 razorracer83, Jul 6, 2016 Similar concept, yes, but Smash Cops/Heat was played from a isometric viewpoint. This game looks to be played from a full bonafide GTA 1+2 top-down view. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #18 orangecan, Jul 6, 2016 Last edited: Jul 6, 2016 Another half an hour in and still good - I've unlocked more cars, there seems to be distinct handling differences between them and I'm liking the controls a lot they're very tight. I was slightly concerned earlier because I realised there was no other traffic but the game just lures you in slowly and by the second set of missions there's loads of stuff to smash into... My only concern would be how much variety of missions it can offer - so far there seems to be variations on driving a to b and following or ramming c, but st the moment I'm having a lot of fun with it. EDIT: there's a crime rate monitor and I've got 0 crime but it seems to make no difference to anything at all..... Still doing missions! bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 7 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #19 bigrand1, Jul 6, 2016 Yeah, thanks for the trailer! Always liked SC/H so I'm gonna give this a shot when I get the time to play it! chief78 Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2012 2,317 7 38 #20 chief78, Jul 6, 2016 I've given this a good 30 mins of straight play and having fun. Smash cops is definitely the one to compare this too. It is slightly more zoomed in than said game, but it doesn't create an issue of not being able to see enough ahead. It looks like there are 4 areas to police, with missions and then 5 bosses to take down in each area. There are 4 vehicles, which can all be upgraded. You earn coins (the ONLY currency.....whoohoo!), power-ups (consumable) and car cards, which adds +1 towards the vehicle's next upgrade (for instance it takes 10 cards earned or bought to have 10/10 and be able to upgrade, which does also cost a chunk of coins). The icing on the cake - and I can't believe it's not been said yet - is the COPS song from the old show that plays....Gold people! That alone brought me back years. While the game doesn't do anything else than be a top down driving game where you're taking out cars, protecting vehicles, and driving around finding clues, I would definitely check this one out if you enjoyed smash cops. There seems to be enough content to have a good amount of fun, and maybe (hopefully....I always like more) updates will bring more. These are early imps, so I'll have to see how progression and the amount of content we're really getting here gets in mileage. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
