Each time a hero dies, he's 30mins to recover or pay 500 gold to heal Windburn Well-Known Member Aug 31, 2009 364 0 16 Melbourne, Australia #11 Windburn, Jul 2, 2016 Last edited: Jul 2, 2016 Beware the looming pay wall that you get to pretty damn quickly. Everything requires gems: to level your hero, you need gems. To level companions or items, you need gems. Money is easy to obtain and I've maxed out everything I can spend it on and now I'm hopelessly stuck at level 1-7 while monsters are far too hard, red blocks appear way more than anything else, and I'm frustrated. Yes, I'm stuck 7 measly levels in to a 99 level game. You get between 5 and 15 gems randomly trickled out to you every 3 hours, with another 5 every 30 mins if you watch ads. I need 175 to level up one of my 3 heroes to level 2, not to mention their gear. Neither of the 3 is strong enough to progress. There are about 10 worlds of 10 stages each annoyingly locked away to me, presumably until I spend big. No thanks. Was the first one like this? They either need to nerf the overall difficulty or lower the cost in things that require IAP currency. I guess that's how they plan on making money tho. It has everything this community loves pixeldunce Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2016 45 0 0 #14 pixeldunce, Jul 5, 2016 Because its so pay to win its not even funny. Everything requires gems. Huge paywall. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #15 Pyapiopi, Jul 5, 2016 The game is so generous in everything it gives. And if you are stuck on 1-7 I suggest practicing. You only need to beat the first 8 levels in each area to unlock the next one. And eventually you will be able to earn quite a few free gems easily. The level that requires a key (get one free every 12 hours and can buy one for 500 gold) gives you free gems, and the potential for a free hero/companion/item. And also you can level up heroes/gear/companions by drawing them multiple times. I haven't spent a dime and I'm on 4-6. It just takes some practice for each boss to figure out how their special blocks work and beat them. Tip, I suggest saving combos to use when you are over ran with red blocks. Using a combo deals two hits on a red block and pushes them to the back. So the majority of blocks will be destroyed instantly. sinagog Well-Known Member Aug 15, 2014 937 0 0 #16 sinagog, Jul 5, 2016 Haven't played this yet, but the paid original had some pretty lethal difficulty spikes. If this does, too, then it's probably more down to this dev's villainous sadism than any IAP shenanigans. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #17 Pyapiopi, Jul 5, 2016 Ya you can't deny the difficulty spikes in this game. It gets crazy. But none of them can be paid to pass. Leveling items has such a minuscule effect in the grand scheme. Leveling heroes can be helpful but chances are if you can't pass it normally, blowing $10 to level a hero won't change that. Combo meter goes up, though. I'm on an iPhone 6s+, latest iOS. On kingdom level 9, haven't spent a dime, and love it! Please fix!! Edit: Yep. Restart the phone. Seriously, paywall isn't there, but the grind is. And the grind is the fun of the game, honestly. Keep playing and you'll see it's not as bad as you fear. Cant break any blocks and I've restarted my phone 3 times. Also the tutorial messages are showing again. Help! Edit: Just noticed it's actually only World 8 that this happens on. Earlier levels and loot key world work fine. For what it's worth, I found the beginning of the game very difficult. But if you stay with it your skills improve, and you get better heroes, companions and items. Haven't felt the need to pay real $$ for anything. I got enough gems for that level up (which apparently broke the game) through normal gameplay. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
