We are looking forward to your feedback! Let us know what you think. We have heard back from a few people, whic have problems with iOS Version 9.2. The game crashes after beating a level. Would be great if anybody, who has that problem could report back. We think its an issue with broken GameCenter of iOS Version of 9.2, but we are not sure. We have tested on 9.2, 9.3.x, but could not reproduce the issue on our devices. Muchuu Well-Known Member Jul 2, 2013 46 0 0 #5 Muchuu, Jun 4, 2016 Played through the first two worlds... Was implementing that hard? JoeCool Active Member Apr 7, 2016 28 0 0 Indie Games Developer Germany http://neowars.net #12 JoeCool, Jun 7, 2016 Well not sure, its a model where you take a lot of risk as a developer. The whales which love your game are not able to spend a lot of money and the people which never spend money on IAPs will probably never spend money even in NeoWars. I have been developing a lot of F2P games and I just didn't like the psychological model behind it. So the motivation was really to try something which haven't been a lot. Unfortuantely paid model is problematic if you start out as a new studio without a good reptuation. The implementation was actually not too hard, you have to setup a second shop with only softcurrency and you have to change your balancing. Also you have to communicate to the player, that something is special in your game. I think in NeoWars, its not as obvious as it should be, we have to still improve it. We got already 1 Star Rating for beeing a Pay2Win game . fgl_sam Well-Known Member Jun 7, 2016 48 0 0 Engineer Norwich, UK http://fgl.io/2nj #13 fgl_sam, Jun 8, 2016 Perhaps a bar that fills up from rewards that turns off ads/iap for a period of time. Like getting a star in Mario, you experience "god mode" for a while, but then it runs out. Gives players a taste of what they're building too by playing, without taking away the buildup or suspense. I suppose an IAP that unlocks that mode for a period is good too. Two ways to make money then! What sort of rewarded videos do you have in the game, are they through an ad network? How much $ per 1000 impressions do you see from videos, do you still show banners, interstitial etc? JoeCool Active Member Apr 7, 2016 28 0 0 Indie Games Developer Germany http://neowars.net #14 JoeCool, Jun 8, 2016 Well the bar is exactly how we did it, maybe not promient enough though. We are using Unity rewarded Ads. I can't tell you any numbers yet, just too early. fgl_sam Well-Known Member Jun 7, 2016 48 0 0 Engineer Norwich, UK http://fgl.io/2nj #15 fgl_sam, Jun 8, 2016 Thanks Joe, I sent you an email today to [email protected], is there a better place to reach you at all? The elite planets are meant to be hard challenges and you do not have to necessarly conquer them directly. So grind some gear before you start attacking them and learn how to use the gear. You can get a detailed description of the gear, just buy holding and tapping and read through what they do. As of the pay wall argument, if you watch 150 ads in the game the game will switch to paid mode, where your rewards are doubled automatically without watching ads. Nonethless its a challenge to balance that good, so that is doesn't feel like pay to play, but we also need to earn some money. What would be your suggestion? JoeCool Active Member Apr 7, 2016 28 0 0 Indie Games Developer Germany http://neowars.net #20 JoeCool, Jun 12, 2016 Sorry! Hey all, We want to apologize as we obviously ####ed up our new monetization model. We really wanted to make a fair price model, but it seems we get rated down for being too greedy, we slowly understand why this is happening. As a small developer sometimes you are in your own world. You play the game for hours and hours and do not realize how difficult you make your own game. Even though we let new players play the game and had a huge beta test with over 250 players, we some how missed the mark here obviously. So we wanted to make sure that NeoWars is challenging and that you have a hard time on some levels, but we also wanted to earn some money. But it was never our intention to put a hard pay wall onto you guys. As a first step, we reblanced the economy a bit and made much clearer how much ads to watch to reach paid mode. Here is a change list: It should be now much clearer how to reach paid mode (we show you real numbers) The basic gear is now 25 Retron cheaper You get more Retron when winning a planet You will still get Retron, when you have beaten all difficulties of a planet Reduced the difficulty of Shahar Prime The version is currently waiting for review and should hit the store in 48 hours latest. Please let us know how you feel about those changes and also what we could improve to give you a better/fairer game experience. Thank you! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
