If you look at the main screen, that's exactly the one which is used as template in any RPGM project. curtisrshideler Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2011 3,097 25 48 Male Video Producer/Editor Texas http://twitter.com/curtneedsaride #9 curtisrshideler, Jun 2, 2016 I'm interested, and I love JRPGs. ItouchBrett Well-Known Member Dec 28, 2008 770 0 16 #14 ItouchBrett, Jun 3, 2016 It plays out like dragon quest series and earthbound. Got some cool audio. Movement is to tap. It's ok.... mogwai Member Mar 11, 2016 10 0 0 #15 mogwai, Jun 7, 2016 Quick impressions from ~30 mins of play. The game didn't get off to a good start where I found myself stuck in the options menu with no "back" button. I ended up closing and reopening the app. Turns out there is a "two finger tap to exit" command that is not communicated until the game starts... Graphics are your standard RPG maker affair. The town looks nice enough to walk around. Sprites are nice and pixelated, not that weird smooth up-res'd pixel art. There's some issues with clipping though.. Characters and enemies appear to walk through obstacles, over buildings etc. And the game isn't great at communicating depth, so you find yourself walking in what you assume is a wide hallway, only to find that it's only one tile wide and you can't manoeuvre. Speaking of manoeuvring, the controls are the worst. Tap to move has worked in games before, but the pathfinding in this game is horrible. Navigating through crowds of zombies with this control scheme is infuriating, leading you to get caught in combat you wanted to avoid. Combat is pretty basic at this point. Turn based with your usual Attack, Special, Guard, Item options. You can use healing items, equipped weapons and consumable weapons. I don't really feel like I've spent enough time with the combat to comment much further. The items you use in combat are found by searching the environment. Fair enough, in theory, but the game doesn't give any clues as to what objects are searchable, nor are there any visual cues or feedback to indicate this. This leads to random object tapping, wandering around maps at the mercy of the poor pathfinding, hoping to find useful items. You do learn than you are likely to find soda near a fridge or molotovs near a box, but it's all trial and error. The story doesn't give you much to go off at the start. Your father left you in the basement and hasn't returned. You venture out into the zombie apocalypse and try to find him. The writing seems decent enough. Speech reads quite natural, at least compared to other RPG maker type games I've played. I don't know if the premise and story is strong enough for me to persist through the other problems though.
