What does it mean? We have a v1.2.1 on Canadian App Store. We would love to have feedback from fellow TouchArcaders! We as developers are working on Calming Lia for quite some time and this means we can suffer from "professional blindness" and fresh perspective from you can help us tremendously. So if you are willing to give us feedback on our v1.2.1. I personally (along with the whole development team) would be extremely excited to hear it! Calming Lia isn't just another run of the mill match 3 and we are looking for ways to evolve match 3 genre one step at a time and Calming Lia does that with its focus on night gaming and helping players relax. Help us make the game, that will make a difference . Young girl Lia is plagued by nightmares brought upon her by the evil Boogie Man. Every night she squeamishly goes to bed hugging her favorite plush raccoon - Bao. In her dreams, Bao comes to life and protects Lia by using his magical powers to scare away the monsters. If Bao manages to protect Lia, she can dream easily that night. On the other hand, if monsters persevere, Lia wakes up in tears. As the player who assumes the role of Lia who in turn controls Bao progresses throughout the dream lands, Lia slowly learns to fight her fears by gaining special abilities and power-ups. These powers are represented by special charms Lia puts on her necklace which are sometimes found by Bao during their dreamy journey or can be bought in the in-game store. Little girl Lia Lia is a cute and personable little girl and the heroine of Calming Lia. Her dreams are filled with nightmares, but she is brave enough to stand up to them with the help of her imaginary friend. Her guardian - Bao Lia's imaginary friend plush raccoon Bao plays the role of Lia's protector. Although Lia controls him (as illustrated in gameplay), he is the representation Lia's inner strength and manifests as a separate being. Bao's goal is to help Lia learn how she could face her fears and he does that by being her companion. He is the archetype of a dedicated protector, plush-knight in a fuzzy-armor. --------- Calming Lia Mingle Games Help Bao to calm Lia with her nightmares and save the dream! Looks so good ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #6 ramzarules, May 26, 2016 Mm i'm always up for match 3 adventure-rpgs. This one looks gorgeous and with a great concept, not just escape your nightmares but stand up to them. I would suggest after seeing the gameplay, for Bao to have some more immediate effect on the monsters other than showing runes with his glowing paws. Maybe he could roar at them, swipe to disperse them or other more immediate actions that give the feeling that you fight them back, letting nothing stand in the way of your loved one, ferociously protecting her. Maybe bao could be a bit more Beast-protecting-Belle-mode? I understand this would mean way more animations and fighting effects though. Also, it is clear i would be playing the game from the persective of the racoon protector, rather than the girl. But hey a lot of people are talking about high profile games in this category, so the thread gets pushed down pretty far in a matter of minutes. So maybe that's why? @ramzarules: Oh thank you! It took a lot of work to get Calming Lia to this point and we still have a huge pile of ideas to make it even more entertaining and helpful at the same time! Your idea about Bao taking a more active role just went to our idea box - thank you so much! ^-^ Just a hint - There will be an underlying story, so maybe you will see "Beast-protecting-Belle-mode" in the story. I can hint some planned features, but never the story - NEVER EVER . djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #8 djstout, May 26, 2016 Oh gosh soft launch only T-T it looks really lovely and having a daughter myself (a bit younger tho) I find the artwork and story very touching ^^. Now my only fear is "f2p or premium?" If it's a premium then I'll buy it for sure to support you guys, but if it's a f2p with timers and double currency then I'm pretty sure I'll give up playing it after one or two tries. LunaMay Active Member Apr 19, 2016 27 0 0 Herald of Mobile Gaming Prague, Czech Republic #9 LunaMay, May 26, 2016 @djstout: I'm glad you like the story and artwork! To be completely frank about Calming Lia, its origins are rooted in a real-life experience. We've decided to go with F2P model, but don't worry. We really do our best not be pushy with IAPs (the last thing we want is to get players grumpy about it) and I've just talked to my colleague about making gameplay videos from the first "20ish" levels to prove, that you can play the game without being obstructed by timers and so on. Or maybe we could even make a stream out of it, so we can have a chat together with players about Calming Lia, pick your brains a little and give you some sneak peaks in what we are planning.. What do you think? ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #10 ramzarules, May 26, 2016 Apart from the storm of great games that came out and coming out now, i would also put match three nighttime adventure on the title to attract the audience you aim for. A title and ca softlaunch doesnt say much just put CA to show you are sling at canada Thank you for giving us the chace to help you. And i share the Timers/lives/hardgrind freemium concerns. However, even if its free and the iaps are permanent that turn the game premium, i personally buy those iaps. Ie no timers, double loot etc. djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #11 djstout, May 27, 2016 What about adding a premium IAP to let people purchase it and have a premium feeling? I would easily pay 5 to 7 dollars for a game, even more if it's really good. We were actually discussing how to name the game in App Store a few weeks back, whether to keep it just "Calming Lia" or if we should go with "Calming Lia - #" (# being the placeholder to make it more descriptive). But in the end we've decided to first go with just the name and A/B test it afterwards. And hey, I'm thrilled that you are interested in helping out! ^-^ @djstout: Premium IAP sounds like an interesting idea to explore. I'll talk about it in-depth with our CEO ASAP. Thank you! --- And honestly, thank you so much for showing, that you really care - it means so much to the whole team and of course me personally! I will keep you updated on how we're going to deal with you awesome tips - even though we are indie studio, we have some (fast) decision processes to follow . djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #13 djstout, May 31, 2016 When do you think this little gem will be out world wide? Or do you think you could ad a few other countries to the soft launch? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
