Fast paced game play (almost bullet hell style), nice graphics, some strategic depth, quite polished. Not yet sure how good/punishing the freemium implementation is, but many timers can be reduced by watching an advert. Had one brief contact with support (I managed to miss getting the free rare character in the tutorial) and they responded quickly and helpfully. So far I'd recommend trying if a bullet hell / base building / freemium / raiding type game appeals to you. JohnnyClash Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2016 611 1 0 #3 JohnnyClash, May 21, 2016 Yep, its difficult to put this into any particular category, as they have done a good job to taking what seems to work from a lot of popular games and making something unique and original with it.. Very fun game, indeed.. Little bit of Clash Royale, Clash of Clans, Battle Beach, etc.. There is a fair amount of depth and some very neat upgrade options along the way, like skill trees for all your troop cards, and a separate one for your base, etc.. mallouk Member Feb 6, 2013 7 0 1 #4 mallouk, May 21, 2016 So far I like this game, one down side is the raid resources have to wait till you open the chip Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #5 Snotty128, May 22, 2016 These guys did a good job with their previous game, cartel kings. They married light gun shooter style gameplay with modern freemium elements and iap. It was something unusual for the app store. They seem to have used a similar inspiration to marry side scrolling shooter/bullet hell gameplay with clash of clones style base building here. Im particularly impressed with the elements ripped from clash royale, namely leveling up your units by cards, and gaining new cards on a short timer for pvp wins. Its the most fluent use of clash royale progression Ive seen since clash royale itself. At the end of the day it feels like these devs are making games for gamers. I admit the freemium elements are baked into the crust of the game, but the core gameplay was made for us. Bloodangel Well-Known Member Jan 19, 2011 1,824 46 48 Retail England #6 Bloodangel, May 22, 2016 This looks n sounds interesting. Are the timers similar to clash royale? Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #7 Snotty128, May 22, 2016 Theres a base building element which I strongly suspect will have lengthy clash of clans style timers. The other timers are straight from clash royale. 3h free chest, 24h pvp/crown chest, 2h (or 4h for rare) pvp rewards chest - you can have up to 4 of these waiting to unlock. Brawwwn Well-Known Member Jul 30, 2015 155 0 0 #8 Brawwwn, May 23, 2016 See, it's not being anti F2P but we don't need more of this. I suspect if a developer releases a game very similar to Clash Royale but in a premium package, it would be very popular, especially if it was well made, and had multiplayer. TA would love that. F2P can work like Crossy Road, but now every other game uses CR style monetization and that is getting really old. This game slapped a new theme on and is pretty much riding on the coattails of Clash Royales popularity and it's not going to get that far using the exact same system. Now we enter the inevitable trend where every dev tries to make a mini moba card battler whatever the hell. And with every carbon copy of Clash the genre degrades further and further and almost degrades clash royale in a way. I'm pleading to a dev to make something premium out of this kind of game, say, $4.99 a suggestion. But enough with the 8 hour timers we have better things to do and love the gameplay but hate the sheen of greed spread throughout. I'd like to think I'm speaking for a couple people here. xelasnewo Well-Known Member Feb 12, 2015 57 0 0 #9 xelasnewo, May 23, 2016 I hate that epics cost gems only in store and its almost impossible to get gems. You can spend gems on them, but Im about to open my third epic from pvp and Ive not spent anything JohnnyClash Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2016 611 1 0 #11 JohnnyClash, May 24, 2016 Last edited: May 24, 2016 I do understand your frame of mind, but it's an outdated notion for mobile gaming, especially when referring to any of the social gaming titles that include clans, cards, pvp, etc.. I love this game just the way it is.. That said, I've spent much more time playing this game in the last few days then I have spent on any of the premium title games that I have, and I own most everything of consideration that has been released in the last few years. There is a place for these games in the store and premium titles as well.. One does not take the place of the other. I've spent $2.99 on this game, so far, and have loved every second of the maybe 20 or more hours that I have played since U.S. release date (last Thursday).. As matter of fact, I hope a FTP game of this caliber is released in the app store each week for the rest of my life. I will continue to support these games as long as I find joy in playing them. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #12 hellscaretaker, May 24, 2016 Last edited: May 24, 2016 I get what he's on about, it appears that epic cards only appear in time limited events. I myself not seen yet if there is a way to win gems without buying JohnnyClash Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2016 611 1 0 #13 JohnnyClash, May 24, 2016 Yep, compared to the clash royale method of buying epics with 2000 gold, this is definitely a bit more chincy.. Also that they are locked behind a paywall until you buy them with gems is a bit of a turnoff.. We will see how it goes.. May be a deal breaker for this game down the road, unless they come of with better ways to get gems, like a monthly pack or something.. Because, as it stands - I know I will not be paying 5.00 per pop (for a 'chance') to try to unlock those cards. Snotty128 Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2013 654 0 0 #14 Snotty128, May 24, 2016 I've got 3 epics from pvp, with a 4th unlocking tonight. I see the epics you can 'buy' with gems, perhaps they are a more poweful class of epic unit. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #15 hellscaretaker, May 24, 2016 I dont agree on this paywall myself either, they should be made available people that have paid into the VIP club for example or there is another way of earning gems a lot more easier then one gem per advert for those that can not buy gems (there are kids under 18 that play no doubt) or don't want to waste gems on having a pop at winning a card. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,098 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #16 hellscaretaker, May 24, 2016 In all honest i couldnt see applying a set price to a game like this would work. 1. Once the initial excitement has died premium purchases soon dry up. 2. New feature is added the following month, the developer has to put up the price to cover this new feature. People complain why should i be paying this new price when only last month it was that price. How about if you was given the option of say a subscription service per month, something that a lot of the Asia games do these days but to go extra mile as a thank you to that player for supporting them some of the timers are remove saappsDOTnet New Member May 24, 2016 4 0 0 #17 saappsDOTnet, May 24, 2016 Great app Awesome man great to have on iPhone (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
