Nice creativity over there Alysea Member Apr 27, 2016 24 0 0 #7 Alysea, May 5, 2016 There are also a few improvements to the core mechanics of the game Palanthian Well-Known Member Feb 19, 2016 142 2 18 #8 Palanthian, May 6, 2016 So despite my earlier comments I gave it a shot. The game itself isn't so bad, although the frame rate on my iPad Air 2 is very choppy. The main problem is that it has the worst energy system I've ever seen. Most of the time you can't play it at all due to a lack of "ambrosia" which regenerates at a mind numbingly slow pace. Just a few hours in and I'm already sick of the grind. Deleted. Alysea Member Apr 27, 2016 24 0 0 #9 Alysea, May 7, 2016 Hey there Thanks for the feedback and sorry to know you already left the game. I forwarded the feedback to the team so they can work on the balance. Palanthian Well-Known Member Feb 19, 2016 142 2 18 #10 Palanthian, May 7, 2016 I hope it's improved. In other games I expect to get around 5 battles minimum done during one play session, then around 2 hours cool down. In this I was able to get around 3 battles, wait 2-3 hours, get 2 more, etc. It sucks all the fun out of it. Then, if you want to assign your heroes to different islands, that's the same cost as a battle to move each one. Seems excessive. Such a shame as the game underneath is sound. Freemium is usually based around bait and switch, so less waiting up-front and more grinding later. Olympus Rising doesn't bait at all, you're waiting pretty much as soon as you start playing. I'll keep an eye on this to see if anything changes. clarknova9 Member Jun 11, 2015 5 0 0 #11 clarknova9, May 7, 2016 I ran into the same problem as Palanthian. Played for about 20 min and then the "ambrosia" cool down kicked in. It's been hours and I still don't have anywhere close to enough for another battle. Palanthian Well-Known Member Feb 19, 2016 142 2 18 #12 Palanthian, May 9, 2016 Don't expect it to change. Take a look at the following thread on the Royal Revolt 2 forums, of which this game is just a re-skin: http://forums.flaregames.com/topic/2051-how-royal-revolt-ii-penalizes-its-best-players/ Top level players complaining about the cost of food (energy/ambrosia) restricting gameplay. It only gets worse as you level up. Maybe this business model works for them, it doesn't work for me. Let's see, I play: Clash of Clans, Rival Kingdoms, Total War Battles: Kingdom, Star Wars Heroes, Marvel Contest of Champions and Future Fight. All of the above allow me to play the game a reasonable amount, and I've paid as and when I wanted to improve my progress. Olympus Rising wants me to pay to play from day one - no thanks Flaregames.
