Right now it's Pylon with rainbow ray on the ocean Jayg2015 Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2015 3,734 41 48 Male Player 1 Liberty city #6 Jayg2015, May 5, 2016 Normally I wouldn't of clicked on a game that has an avatar of a thumb to be honest but this time I did and the game looks great. Having fun with this. Been trying to beat the boss that comes straight at you but I always die. Using missiles and reloading as fast as possible too. Do different ships have better/stronger weapons, or is everything cosmetic only? 0Hayes Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2016 148 1 16 UK http://hayes2d.com/ #8 0Hayes, May 5, 2016 Ah yeah, mods are essentially a shortcut to the harder difficulties. Particularly useful for getting a higher score =P I like that, Pylon didn't get too much love during testing. It's nice to see it getting some play. Fantastic, can't argue with that! You'll have to let me know what you think. Thumbkind is relying on you after all. Hi Mike! Awesome news. Ah yeah the big blue shield elite, sometimes I find it easier to recruit an index finger and go pedal to the metal with that! As for ships, their all cosmetic. Weapons on the other hand are the main variable, I'd advise trying a rapid fire weapon such as a gatling gun or cluster missile against anything with allot of health. Best of luck in the Thumb War! Thumbkind is relying on you. slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #9 slamraman, May 5, 2016 love it - completely unexpectedly so. Saw AKD tweet about it and thought 'why not'. My only small inconvenience is the reload at the top of the screen as I use my index finger rather than my thumb. Perhaps that's the point (no pun intended) but overall a neat little game. I still haven't unlocked any new weapons (that I know of), but I'm guessing they are in the Loot Drop crates? 0Hayes Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2016 148 1 16 UK http://hayes2d.com/ #11 0Hayes, May 5, 2016 That's awesome! Glad we surprised you. As for the reload button, it isn't perfect. It was designed to be a bit of a stretch but I'd still like to experiment with some more options like pinning it below the ship. Any ideas are always appreciated! Fair play. And yeah, all unlocks can be earned through loot drops. Alternatively they can be purchased on the shop. taketwotablets New Member Jun 4, 2015 1 0 0 #12 taketwotablets, May 5, 2016 Good stuff! Love the main mechanic of this shooter, makes it feel almost rhythm action in nature. Love the look of it as well, nice clean pixel goodness. 0Hayes Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2016 148 1 16 UK http://hayes2d.com/ #13 0Hayes, May 5, 2016 Thanks man, I'm glad you like it! vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #14 vectorarchitekt, May 6, 2016 Actually relocating the reload button to the bottom would be awesome. Or maybe have a "tap anywhere twice" option? pixeldunce Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2016 45 0 0 #15 pixeldunce, May 6, 2016 Wow this game is awesome and addicitng. I love the mechanic of how the ship shoots only when you relaese and tap. It adds some great strategy. Just wish i didnt have the GC bug so i could compete on the leaderboards. But great game! 0Hayes Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2016 148 1 16 UK http://hayes2d.com/ #16 0Hayes, May 6, 2016 Last edited: May 6, 2016 I think what I'll do in the next couple of days is post up a Testflight build that has a couple of placement options. See what people prefer. I also had an idea to make a docking platform at the bottom of the screen and staying in it will reload your ship. A gesture would work well too, though double tap might run into problems with low ammo weapons like the nuke. Plenty of experimenting to do. Really appreciating the help and suggestions! Thank you! Hopefully we added something new to the copy and paste SHMUP genre =P Ah yes, the GC bug. Hopefully they fix that in the next iOS release. Even worse is that the achievements award bonus scrap. Who knows, if it doesn't get fixed I could always build my own achievement system to run parallel. That reminds me, I'd like to add daily/rolling challenges as an additional way to earn prizes. I'd love to hear any challenge ideas you folks might have (no matter how crazy)! Mrbestapps Well-Known Member Dec 9, 2015 233 1 18 #17 Mrbestapps, May 6, 2016 Surprisingly good tbh! Got 150 then died to a boss I couldn't kill. Great game! 0Hayes Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2016 148 1 16 UK http://hayes2d.com/ #18 0Hayes, May 6, 2016 Thanks, we seem to be getting that allot haha Go on then, what elite are you finding the hardest? Mine is this one: H4nd0fg0d Well-Known Member Mar 30, 2010 1,905 0 36 #19 H4nd0fg0d, May 6, 2016 Really digging this. Loves me some shmups. Earlier, Rob, you stated that the reload was designed to be a stretch. I don't know why that would be your choice. It's really an uneeded hindrance. Will be awesome when it is moved to an optimal position or you settle on desirable way to implement it. Cheers mate. 0Hayes Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2016 148 1 16 UK http://hayes2d.com/ #20 0Hayes, May 6, 2016 Appreciate it man! At the time, it seemed like a good idea. I think it was for balancing but the game has greatly evolved since I made that decision and it's time to start experimenting with other solutions. Thanks for playing, look forward to seeing what score you get (for Thumbkind)! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
