I have all three of the Hexcells games on the PC. The puzzle quality is excellent. It's a mix of minesweeper and picross. There's some other rules that come into play as well with later puzzles. And hex grids too. I'm not so sure how well this plays on an iPad. If the puzzles are the same as the PC game, I couldn't justify paying for the iOS version. Right now the three Hexcells games (and also Squarecells not on iOS yet) are on sale at Steam -- and cheaper too than at the App Store.
It plays very well on the iPad The only thing wrong is on the iPad Pro when in the smart keyboard the game is upside down and doesn't rotate.
It's amazingly well implemented. I could see how this could work on smaller devices with the addition of a zoom tool.
