It has the same great ebb and flowing combat as Clash Royale. But what this game adds is 3 lanes instead of 2, which makes the combat a bit more complex and harder to learn. Unlockable slightly OP hero units and the combat is way more focused on spells than Clash Royale. The upgrading of units is a bit simpler, its more focused on earning and spending gold. Overall its a good game, but I dont think its going to make me stop playing Clash Royale. barefootdragon Well-Known Member May 21, 2015 78 0 0 #3 barefootdragon, Apr 27, 2016 Stoked!!! JohnnyClash Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2016 611 1 0 #8 JohnnyClash, Apr 27, 2016 Making my way through the tutorial stages now... This is a great intro to a game, and I hope it lives up to these early stages.. Really fresh take so far... This game icon will be sitting right next to Clash Royale if it keeps this up. araczynski Well-Known Member Oct 5, 2009 1,467 0 36 programmer omaha, ne #9 araczynski, Apr 27, 2016 i think 30 seconds of any random part of that gameplay trailer would have sufficed... seems pretty stale to me, but to each their own. Also not a fan of the Facebook integration. Unless I missed something. You are just 'you' unless you have Facebook. It's not bad by any means. So I'll give it some time. solarnya Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2015 907 287 63 Male Close to Tokyo, Japan #13 solarnya, Apr 27, 2016 ..s...s..super fun!!! ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #14 ste86uk, Apr 28, 2016 Suprised by the comments but then at the same time I hardly recognise the names anyway so... I enjoy the game still and glad it's launched, seeing more people using the legendary units now it's out of beta but I still don't spend my gold on those or using the special abilities so it does make games tougher when others use them but still can be beatable. It'll be quite a while to get Mortis back though with her new cost! Wizard_Mike Well-Known Member Mar 17, 2011 1,294 0 36 Texas #15 Wizard_Mike, Apr 28, 2016 This looked pretty cool, but I'm not impressed. For one, the matches just seem to lack the excitement that one would expect from this kind of game. I can't quite put my finger on exactly what's missing or wrong in that department, but it just doesn't reel me in. The main turnoff for me is the consumable aspect. You have to spend coins to get mana and titan crystals, as well as hire a colossus. This is a heavy handed way of handling IAP. "Oh, you ran out of coins? Sorry, you don't get to play with a full deck until you get more coins. Would you like to purchase some with money?" Once I saw that, I was out. I don't mind games where others can invest money and have a better deck or stronger characters or whatever. Having to pay just to keep my abilities refilled is something I do mind. I don't consider that a good implementation of IAP. I'm no opponent of IAP, either. I just don't like this kind of IAP. ItouchBrett Well-Known Member Dec 28, 2008 770 0 16 #17 ItouchBrett, Apr 28, 2016 I'll be honest. I wouldn't waste a penny on this game. Lacks and deep gameplay and not to much strategy like clash royale... Deleted. JohnnyClash Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2016 611 1 0 #18 JohnnyClash, Apr 28, 2016 Lots of negativity in this thread and that is not surprising... After all, do we really 'need' another lane battler game in a market that is pretty saturated already? I will say this, if you enjoy games like Clash Royale, you may enjoy this too if you give it a fair chance... But, you will need to be able to stick it out until you get to at least level 4 or 5.. It does take a while for the dynamics to open up so that you can actually see what this game has to offer.. With Hearthstone, the game opens up from the word go.. With Clash Royal, same thing.. With this game, you will need an attention span to get thorough the first few levels to see what is actually here.. This, I feel, is Spellbinders main downfall. It will loose a lot of players early on that just scratch the surface and don't go deeper. Personally, I am level 4 and it took a couple hours of solid gameplay to get here.. Game dynamics are still far from fully opening up, but at this point I like what I see and, am enjoying the gameplay.. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #19 ste86uk, Apr 28, 2016 I got to level 13 in the beta and unlocked all Titans but stopped playing as I knew data would be reset, I agree I don't like the consumables but they aren't necessary I never use them because I hate things like that and I still win much more than I lose even against people that use them. It might seem simple at first but there actually is a good amount of strategy to the game and being able to win against good players. As for the market saturated with lane battlers and then clash being the only one listed? I hardly remember any in recent history maybe there's a few old ones or rubbish ones knocking about but not quite like this one. I actually enjoyed the tutorial too as it teaches you bit by bit to use different spells and units, when I unlocked Mortis and Oakroot I actually missed having a tutorial for them to teach me their units, instead I just had to read up on them. In beta I did feel like what's the goal? I work to unlock Titans or skins if there are ones I like and I have fun playing the matches plus I like levelling up for bonuses. But then other than for fun I didn't feel like I was playing for or aiming for anything but fun. Unlike games like hearthstone and clash where you play to get high leagues with better rewards or unlock better cards that'll all help you continuously improve.
