Think it's a great improvement of the original taichi panda. For all those that will meet Pan Da, Lauren and Maxee for the first time will encounter an asian mythology inspired Always Online Multiplayer Hack'n'Slay Fantasy Action-RPG Mobile Game that does currently probably represent what is possible on Mobile up to a point were we can only expect a better result from big AAA Publisher equal to Gameloft, Electronic Arts or hopefully Blizzard in the upcoming future at some point. The beginning of Taichi Panda: Heroes is pretty classic if you can call it that way. After a short Intro you are able to choose between the three Main Heroes of the Game that have each their own unique Fighting Background/Skills and afterwards you are tossed into the World of Taichi Panda and will spent like the first half an hour of the Game with the Tutorial that will teach you the basics in the Game like the different Fighting Skills your Character does have, how to get new Missions and where, and so on and so... Afterwards you will be left into an world that is heavily based on the Taichi Panda Franchise so those that have already played the Original Game back in 2014/2015 will recognize a lot of the first Game too in Taichi Panda: Heroes but considering that a lot of those rough edges that were in Taichi Panda left are now polished up to a point where things could only get even more better if someone would sink much more money into it then probably Snail Games USA Inc has done already the current result is already more then just decent. Taking into account that the Game is Always Online you are getting of course your Daily Quests, a complete full voiced Story Main Mission and other Features in the Game that you would expect to see in such a Mobile Game. Different Skills, Lootable Equipment, Clans, Boss Battles... the Game does pretty much have a feature list were you only could either arguee that some things aren`t in the Game because they wouldn`t make any sense at all or that they just left it out to be included into the upcoming Taichi Panda 2 Mobile Game. At the current moment I have so far only played around two hours of the Game but I feel already at the current moment very save to say that Taichi Panda: Heroes could become the Online Action-RPG Hack'n'Slay Game some have waited for if they aren`t into the Kung Fu Panda Game that still everyone is waiting for till Taichi Panda 2 will launch in the upcoming months (2016/2017) depending on how fast Snail Games USA Inc. will get an Build up on the iTunes Store in Asia. So far the hole Gameplay felt over the first couple of Missions very smooth and enjoyable. It will be interesting to see what might wait for us after you finish the Main Story in the Game and if the rest of the Game is also on such a high quality level as the Main Story does indicate. Conclusion Snail Games USA Inc. Taichi Panda: Heroes is more of Taichi Panda and this is probably good for those that were already waiting since last year for Taichi Panda 2 and I`m pretty sure that the Team back at Snail Games knew exactly that they couldn`t wait any long with releasing another Game in the Taichi Panda World without getting an huge issue with their current Community that were looking forward for something new since a couple of months. For all those that enjoy playing those Asian inspired Online Fantasy Hack'n'Slay Games I can only give those the advise to give the Game a try since it`s one of the better one currently on the Mobile Market and I`m sure that here on the Forum we all might start to talk about over the upcoming months how to improve the Game or what should be added to Taichi Panda 2 while playing Taichi Panda: Heroes meanwhile. Rating: None at the current moment* *= The Game is currently Soft-Launched and I don`t rate any Games while the Developer are still polishing their Games. But if you are going to do it like this, why even bother? That notwithstanding, there are actually a few cool tricks here, such as the cinematic camera sweeps and changes in camera perspective in boss fights, and the Age of Wushu Dynasty-light semi-MMO trappings. But the actual combat is dreadfully uninspiring and static. Positioning has little to no impact, there is no manual evasion, blocking or parrying, and the stringing-together-of-thine-optimal combos-and-juggles-exercise is about all the depth there is. Playing this beta side-by-side with Foursaken's new Adventure Company really puts the isometric combat into perspective, and makes the impact of Snail's design decision for Heroes' (and the original's) combat mechanics more glaring. I highly advice anyone who enjoy the isometric action of the Taichi Panda titles - as well as some (or even many, if such a gamer exist) of Snail's other mechanics and design principles - but who wants more twitch skill, player agency and tactical depth to her combat to take a long and hard look at Snail's Age of Wushu Dynasty iOS MMO instead. It might be riddled with just as much ridiculousness in regards to f2p mechanics, but it is also riddled with one of the more refreshingly tactical, varied, dynamic and twitch-y combat systems for the platform. And (see my post above), the combat mechanics aren't either. (Age of Wushu Dynasty, for all its f2p terrible-ness, does have very non-fake, skill-based and highly tactical synchronous multiplayer, both in co-op and many forms of realtime PvP.)
