Hard to say if this is some kind of weird security measure Nintendo/DeNA is taking or if it's an actual bug. It's real weird that there's no friend codes. Every other Nintendo system out there has such a weirdly elaborate friend code system, but the one app that could actually use some kind of friend code / QR code Snapchat-style "add me" thing doesn't have it. What a strange oversight. Seems to add someone you both need to be mutual Twitter followers or Facebook friends, which kind of sucks.
