The option to play in portrait is nice but if only there was a way to make it less squished at the top. callmesteam Well-Known Member Dec 1, 2014 65 0 6 Albuquerque, NM #3 callmesteam, Jan 22, 2016 In wide screen, you can't see the bottommost cards. And now I can't even move cards. They just hang there and shake a bit. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #4 Stronsay, Jan 22, 2016 Good find Vectorarchitekt. The additional rules make this more interesting than the usual solitaire; more thought and planning required. It's well presented too with the historical setting. Pity it doesn't seem to be working for everyone. vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #5 vectorarchitekt, Jan 22, 2016 I went to their FB page and they said there's an update coming to fix that ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 970 141 43 #6 ShinHadoukin, Jan 23, 2016 It would be nice for portrait mode to also work at the title screen. Also, "historical" card options would be cool. Like, if I bought a deck of cards in 1941 what card backs & styles were there? Love it though! Sold me at Churchill!!!! ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 970 141 43 #7 ShinHadoukin, Jan 23, 2016 Also, no for the "you look stumped message. It's driving me crazy. Have a setting to get rid of it. Thanks ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 970 141 43 #8 ShinHadoukin, Jan 23, 2016 Does the game let you know that you have failed? As in, no way to win this draw? ChurchillSolitaire New Member Jan 24, 2016 1 0 0 #9 ChurchillSolitaire, Jan 24, 2016 An Update from Churchill Solitaire Hello all - I'm the creative director for Churchill Solitaire. This thread is incredibly helpful and I hope you keep the critiques coming, we're using them to consistently tweak on the app. I wanted to post a quick update on progress since launch, some improvements we hope to have down the line and some future expansions. Next Build Release We submitted a new build to the App Store the day after we launched the game (Thursday). That build is still awaiting review but it contains what we hope are the following fixes: Fix intermittent card sticking and shaking. Fix intermittent unmovable aces More logical order to game sequences Fix some errors with hint count We have the following items from Touch Arcade on the list of improvements we are working on in the coming weeks: Allow portrait mode at all times (even in menus) Create a zoomable interface in phone portrait mode Turn on/off "You Look Stumped" modal Work on implementing logic that lets users know when they are out of moves. Historical card backs and play surfaces. I can't tell you all enough how helpful threads like these are. We are a small shop (no, really, just 1 develop and 1 designer) but we want to put out an awesome product. Take care and keep 'em coming. Marc O vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #10 vectorarchitekt, Jan 24, 2016 Thank you for actually doing all those updates! This game is great now but all those tweaks will be awesome. I for one prefer portrait games on iPhone, landscape on iPad. I requested on Facebook that the portrait game board have something on the "desk" towards the bottom like a map or photo or something to spice up the plain wood surface. I mention this because the menus and the desk render at the start look fantastic. Nice work for such a small team! Kkorn New Member Jan 24, 2016 1 0 0 #11 Kkorn, Jan 24, 2016 Review cards Is there a way to see the final game and what you should have done? Helps me learn for next time. Will be happy when I can do portrait view on my phone. Thx. ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 970 141 43 #12 ShinHadoukin, Jan 25, 2016 Man!!! I am so excited!!! All of those things are going to make this game even more awesome!!! I cannot wait!!! Thank you so much for being involved here!!! Great app!!! MagIor Member Aug 6, 2015 23 0 0 #13 MagIor, Jan 25, 2016 Worth pointing out I have had several instances of the game not allowing me to make completely legal moves (black 8 onto Red 9 for instance). Is there a rule I'm not getting? CoreyB Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2011 503 0 0 Aircraft Mechanic Chicago, IL #14 CoreyB, Jan 25, 2016 Same here just keep tapping and it will eventually move. It's very annoying. ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 970 141 43 #15 ShinHadoukin, Jan 25, 2016 Yes, it's a little buggy. I've have plenty of times cards wouldn't move the first few tries. Good news is the developer is on here & has great updates planned. Sounds like they are really going to polish this game even more. It deserves it & im glad. Let's gets some good reviews on the App Store & help this game as much as we can. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #16 Stronsay, Jan 25, 2016 It's working well on Ipad 4. No problems with moving cards, and landscape mode is fine. There's been some good suggestions here, like removing the annoying messages, and the 40's style cards should be great when implemented. The only major problem is with the player - I've yet to win a game on the easy setting. Either it's not so easy or I'm useless ar solitaire. Possibly both. stolenlogic Active Member Sep 25, 2013 36 0 0 #17 stolenlogic, Jan 26, 2016 This app was paid for by Donald Rumsfield. I would like to see an auto rotation available in landscape. I have a kind of case that makes it hard to use the phone the traditional way. Or at least a manual rotation to flip the screen would be fine. Is there a trick to moving the cards? I can't move them from one stack to the other. Edit - a reinstall allowed me to be able to move the cards CoreyB Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2011 503 0 0 Aircraft Mechanic Chicago, IL #20 CoreyB, Jan 26, 2016 Update made the game unplayable for me, it very laggy now. iPad 3 iOS 9.2.1 (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
