I didn't count, but it appears for every ten gems you collect in a level, you get one gem to spend. That seems like it would get to be a grind if you were wanting to save up enough to buy all of the characters. That's obviously to incentivize the player to break down and buy the gem packs. I hate game mechanics in paid apps that are only there to get you to spend money on IAP. Is there any actual difference between the characters beyond cosmetic? That seems like it would get to be a grind if you were wanting to save up enough to buy all of the characters. That's obviously to incentivize the player to break down and buy the gem packs.
