If you can add a few numbers together, then you're about to take an addictive plunge into the world of make13! Follow your pal Wilson Girdlesprings on a lovely walk while you shift tiles up or down to add or subtract one. Select tiles that add up to 13, and collect shiny coins for each tile you use! If you're really good, you'll use the glowing Bonus Tiles in a strategic way to earn a triple coin bonus...use as many tiles in one shot to make13 as you can for the highest score! Hurry up, though, because you're on the clock! If the timer reaches the top of the screen, a dusty old gray tile will pop into place. You can use it to make 13, but you can't shift them. If the grid fills up and no more numbers can be added, Wilson's jolly walk in the park comes to an end. Compete with friends on GameCenter, and enjoy long relaxing play sessions, or quick little bursts when you're got a few free moments. ALSO TRY OUR OTHER MINIVISIONS GAMES! Go! Go! With games like this I prefer that you can basically always "make 13" and that your skill determines how well you do, but here, you sometimes get nothing but even numbers, and there's nothing you can do. That's not very fun, especially if you're doing really well. Thanks for sharing though, it's a polished game, and if you like number games with a bit of randomness, then this is well worth checking out, especially at 99 cents. lena Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2011 1,049 0 36 #4 lena, Jan 20, 2016 On playing further, the randomness is a dealbreaker for me, and I can't imagine many people liking this much randomness in a game like this. Half the time I'm playing I die because I get number after number with which it is impossible to make 13. The numbers are actually not completely random; there's an algorithm that kicks in as you start to near a game over that tries to populate numbers that will make 13 based on what you have on the board. It works in a particular way that can't always give you a solution if you've used or shifted the numbers it was trying to work with away. (ie. it sees you have an 8, and will try to either give you a 2 and a 3 on the next two tiles, or a 5 on the next tile, and you shift the 8 and make it a 7, or, it was going to give you a 3 on the next tile, but you filled in that space with something else before it could). I'll take a look to see if this can be improved. Anyway, sorry it wasn't your cup of tea. Thanks again for your feedback! lena Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2011 1,049 0 36 #6 lena, Jan 22, 2016 Thanks! And thanks for joining the forum. I wondered why this only gets noticeable after a score of about 100 or so, but now I'm guessing that as the game goes on there are more opportunities for this to occur. It would be really great if you could improve on this, it is the only thing I don't like about the game, apart from the random randomness I like it a lot. lena Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2011 1,049 0 36 #7 lena, Jan 23, 2016 So I played again and I noticed that this happened at a score of only 50. So maybe it was mostly more noticeable for me with higher scores because it is more irritating if you lose when it's going well. My board at score 50 looked like this: [[9,9,1],[8,9,8],[1,7,9]] (italic numbers were grey) If you're thinking about improving the randomness, it would be really great if the algorithm would not just work on the very last option, because once I'm at a score of only 80 or so in hard mode, even if I finally get the number I need at the very last open spot I'm still losing because there is not enough time to tap the numbers.
