I am sure i will love this game... but as of now, unplayable on my Iphone 5. I'm stuck in a crashing loop. Hopefully it gets resolved and I can actually give you some feedback on this game. I did spend some money... I hope its not lost. Keth New Member Mar 6, 2015 4 0 0 #4 Keth, Jan 14, 2016 The monthly subscription that one of the above posters referred to is a $3.99 purchase. What it does is give you dilithium (this is the premium currency in this game) every single day for a month, this is not unheard of in free to play titles. I have been playing it since it came out, and finally hit a point where I have to stop and wait. Sure, if you want to play it for hours on end you are going to have to spend the money. However, if you, like me have other things going on in your life, I am certain you can find something to do while waiting for your "stamina" to recharge. That being said, if you hate free to play games, you are going to hate this one because it's free to play. However if your big fan of Star Trek and are willing to wait for a stamina system or spend real money on a game I think it's worth your time. It's the fee for the "Monthly Card", perhaps an option to budget IAP through recurring monthly purchase. As far as the game, it's a mishmash of chars, ships and locals from the various series, where challenges are overcome by applying the appropriate character. The entire game utilizes images and audio from the various shows, but seems more focused on Next Generation. There seems to be a lack of polish, especially with some images and icons appearing very low-res and aliased, but audio is decent and the 3D animations not bad. The first few missions were enough for me to walk away. Game difficulty (initially) seems remidial, but could feel the familiar linear progression that tends to build in these games that ultimately leads to a paywall. If someone has a different experience,or can confirm there is fun to be had, Id be interested, perhaps I didn't give it enough time, but seems like the same-old-same-old. Maybe it's a sign from a higher power telling me to get it off my device. Make it so... Oh whatever..... makoamagana Member Oct 13, 2014 9 0 0 #8 makoamagana, Jan 14, 2016 Man talk about a let down...every single time you load into an away mission battle where you choose which character to use for what aspect of the mission it freezes halfway through. The only way to get it to work is to close the app and then relaunch. Does it consistently too, every single time. Really need to fix these issues and should have been dealt with during testing and soft launches. It's pretty much unplayable, right now I'm in a crash loop where even the above suggested action isn't working and now it's crashing at the boot up screen part way through q's intro speech. Wizard_Mike Well-Known Member Mar 17, 2011 1,294 0 36 Texas #10 Wizard_Mike, Jan 15, 2016 So, this game is basically Heroes Charge with a Star Trek skin and some tweaks to how combat works. Not what I was expecting at all. TheSpecialist Member Jan 7, 2016 5 0 0 Marketing Specialist Outer space rings #11 TheSpecialist, Jan 15, 2016 Played it, kind of liked it (could be way better), IAPs are very badly integrated. makoamagana Member Oct 13, 2014 9 0 0 #12 makoamagana, Jan 15, 2016 Just curious what phones everyone is using to play this? I'm using an iPhone 6 and this game freezes up every few minutes requiring me to close it and relaunch. It always seems to freeze during the character mission parts. Anyone else have the same issue. I can't play for more than 2-3 min at a time before it freezes again. I would give it a better rating but being that it's pretty much unplayable right now for me I'm keeping it at 1 star until it gets fixed. !nsomn!ac Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2013 80 0 0 #13 !nsomn!ac, Jan 15, 2016 Im not a trekkie nor am I star warssie, not sure if thats a thing, I Like both stories the same. I try not to let my love of a franchise get in a way of judging games functionality/fun. Game has few little good things like not so bad visuals and some nice soundbites from movies. However, realizing that developper doesnt give you anything else to do, if your timer runs out and locks good quality crew exclusively behind the cash shop, its disappointing. After playing 3-4 hrs you find all of the IAPs of this game, and its ugly. I am currently playing few fremium games that even though have energy system and hero/crew/equipment aquisition system, still give the player a chance to get few rare/epic ones with dailies. I dont mind paying and supporting a developper, if I enjoy their product. I usualy play the game a day or two, and if I see that the developper is not hellbent on greed, I happily contribute. I am still going to play this once in a while and wait few updates. But if I see no improvements with the paywall, its a gonner. Shame, this couldve been good. makoamagana Member Oct 13, 2014 9 0 0 #14 makoamagana, Jan 15, 2016 Hmmm ok I wonder what it is then. All I know is it specifically happens during the character missions every time and it's pretty annoying. Wish there was a send error report. [playing on iPad Air 1] Gamehenge Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Aug 8, 2012 46 0 0 #19 Gamehenge, Jan 16, 2016 When I play ios games - its typically something I do for my own enjoyment. Something that might help pass the time, or give me something to look forward to after work has kept me busy for the last 4 hours straight and I finally have a minute. I am a pretty big star trek fan, and this game has really been a fun look at some of the characters that gave me lots of great memories! As far as game play goes - its got some variety, but its not very deep. And within a short period of time it does get a little grindy. But that's what I like! I love having a game on my phone that is going to require me to either grind with something as silly as tapping... or grind with something as silly as regularly checking in, and moving my little minions a few xp closer to the next goal. These types of games aren't for everyone. There are lots of games that aren't for me. Paying 60$ for a COD game, so I can get shot repeatedly by a 15 year old isn't fun for me. But I don't mind that its a very successful series and people love it. Just play what you want. Pay if you want and let the market decide. I would love to see some posts from people that are playing this game now. There is already a toucharcade fleet. I'm not sure what fleets do yet! GaussEX Member Jan 10, 2013 13 0 0 #20 GaussEX, Jan 16, 2016 Currently playing this, however, the game itself seems to be very basic with very little you as a player are in control of. First annoyance is the fact that many of the names aren't standard. For example, took me a while to understand there are two kinds of stores. Time warp which is your usual daily shop which is also where you get your new crew members. The second is faction shop where you have to physically be in each faction's home shop to buy related stuff. It gets painful to micromanage where to get everything from which faction and which home planet it is. Secondly, the game itself crashes randomly whether before or after a flight battle. Occasionally when completing a quest. The game also has a huge battery drain for some reason and there is also no way to turn down performance or skip certain things. Now that's the major complains. Onto the game itself. The game has you support a set faction per questline mission, but it has no effect beyond faction shop availability because at the end of the day if you support group A all the way, you can still pick group B to be king of that planet and get that crew member. Rather dumb and pointless that it ignores your choices as a player. When you play each mission, you have to replay it multiple times to get critical success (100%) in each node to get into the next difficulty. You are screwed if you don't have specific crew to help. Beyond this the gameplay is really geared towards specific crew to get 100% and not a variety of choices. Overall you max your primary crew members pretty quickly and are forced to train other people to assist you in your quest. There are also very small number of crew that have traits to boost their usefulness. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
