So far after a couple minutes (I have to work now) this does look good. It's got quite a few things going on that I am looking forward to exploring later on-Crafting, mining, some battle. But so far, it seems promising. For .99 I've done way worse. Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #3 Repulsa, Jan 13, 2016 This was an instant buy! Looks awesome hit the buy button but won't get to play it till later. The mining and crafting elements are really intriguing caseyhicks6 Member Dec 16, 2015 18 0 0 #4 caseyhicks6, Jan 13, 2016 I'm about 15 minutes in and loving it. It combines so many different elements into an easy to play and simple game. Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #5 Repulsa, Jan 13, 2016 Back to say ... I love it! This is my new favorite game. It's like they took every game I love and combined into one game of total awesomeness. There are crafting/mining game elements, a hint of minesweeper a tad of battle heart. So many great elements here. And only a buck with no IAP. caseyhicks6 Member Dec 16, 2015 18 0 0 #6 caseyhicks6, Jan 14, 2016 Don't Sleep On This One! I'm really loving this game. A lot of gameplay, and a lot of RPG elements we all love like mining, crafting, leveling, etc. This will consume MANY hours. If you love these types of games, this may be a hidden gem IMO. My only question is does it become less linear? I'm done level 5 and so far it looks like crafting is a simple matter of slowly increasing the power of each character while playing the same puzzles. Don't get me wrong, I like it, I'm just curious if the options open up or the puzzles change and get harder later in the game. mystic.purple Well-Known Member May 15, 2011 69 2 8 Jakarta, ID #10 mystic.purple, Jan 14, 2016 Sorry, can you tell me what you mean by puzzles? Just want to make sure we are on the same page before I tell more stories about the game Unstablefan Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Feb 22, 2013 858 12 18 #11 Unstablefan, Jan 14, 2016 The actual gameplay. Combat has a twitch/timing puzzle while mining has a minesweeper puzzle. I'm finding that as I get better at the twitch combat the fights are getting easier. Wondering what sort of curveballs it will throw at me as I progress. mystic.purple Well-Known Member May 15, 2011 69 2 8 Jakarta, ID #12 mystic.purple, Jan 14, 2016 Last edited: Jan 14, 2016 Okay. So there are a few aspects of the game which might not be obvious in early stages. It's true that being good in the twitch will be one of the most essential factors in winning battles. As you progress, with more hero classes being unlocked, the second aspect of the game will gradually become more important, which is about who you should bring and where to place them. Each hero class has their own attacking pattern and/or range, which should be taken into consideration, especially in later stages. More enemy types with unique attack patterns will appear as well, thus selecting correct heroes are vital later on (and of course, prioritizing which enemy to kill first). As for weapons, they are being made available incrementally that way to help players which have difficulties on the battle. In practice, you can use whatever weapons you have in hand until you hit the wall, which force you to craft stronger equips (or devising better strategy). About the mine, as you get deeper, it will become gradually challenging, especially when you have to find the way to get into the next floor. If you notice, each material type can be found only on certain floors, so sometimes you have to break through all the blocks just to find the stair and unlock the next checkpoint. Then from there, you can start collecting the materials you are currently looking for. Just remember to upgrade your pickaxe when you can Unstablefan Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Feb 22, 2013 858 12 18 #13 Unstablefan, Jan 14, 2016 Thanks for the reply. Yeah, at level 5 I'm already itching for a better axe! Enemies with unique attack patterns are exactly what the game needs to be more challenging. Looking forward to it! Congrats on a really fun and polished mashup of so many different genres! Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #14 Repulsa, Jan 14, 2016 How do you get new recipes again? I can't beat level four cause I need my archer to have an iron bow I think. The barter guy hasn't shown up since the first time. mystic.purple Well-Known Member May 15, 2011 69 2 8 Jakarta, ID #15 mystic.purple, Jan 14, 2016 Thanks, good luck on the game! Do you mean manual for iron bars or the iron bow? You can't gain the iron bow yet before completing stage 4. Majority of the manuals are awarded after completing stages for the first time, and some of them are done by completing the barters. With iron greatsword, and coppers for both the archer and the priest, it's enough to beat stage 4. Make sure to do the twitch part well too Son of Anarchy Well-Known Member Oct 5, 2015 717 130 43 Male Shadow Runner Australia #16 Son of Anarchy, Jan 15, 2016 Excellent game with a great loop of fighting, mining and crafting. I'm more of a hardcore gamer but when I'm short on time I always have something quick on hand to play, this is perfect. One of those games that you only expect to play for a short time but end up putting hours at a time into. For those having trouble getting started, stick with it. Once you get into the flow it becomes very rewarding. And yes, the twitch battles do eventually become natural to consistently hit your mark. I was hopeless at the start but now am pretty confident. se99jmk Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2010 300 16 18 #17 se99jmk, Jan 15, 2016 Great game! some tweaks ideal? Fantastic game, really hidden gem! Really fine balancing to make it tough but achievable in places.. Some improvements that would be ideal (or maybe they're bugs?) * Selling _any_ ore is always at $5 each, shouldn't this scale with more rare materials? * When looking at craft list for pickaxes it shows a book until you have crafted it, but it's not so easy to tell what equipment you haven't crafted yet.. Other than those two small niggles, still going strong! When I found gold and went to sell it, still $5. Same price as iron or any other material. I'm guessing this is done on purpose though because otherwise you could go mining for a few hours, sell it all and break the game. It's not a problem that everything sells for a fiver, it was just interesting to note. The game is very, very finely balanced. It puts up a challenge (in a good way) and is not something you'll blast through in an afternoon, probably not even a week even. For those who haven't got this but are interested, I forgot to mention in my post above that the game has no iap at all. None.
