Information Seller: Genre:Action, Arcade Release:Dec 19, 2015 Updated:Nov 30, -0001 Version: Size:0.0 TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating:Unrated Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Well the time has come, Backpack Harry launches at midnight so I figured it was time to move out of the upcoming section. Backpack Harry is a classic platformer, something I've always wanted to do. It's a universal game across iOS and Apple TV and supports MFI controllers on all platforms. Probably the single best bit of the game is the included (on iOS) level editor. Allowing you to create and share your own levels. There's lots of classic platformer elements to use in the levels and there's three sizes of level to choose from. I'm also almost finished the first update to the game, which along with the usual behind the scenes tweaks adds more new things to the level editor. Such as slopes (which just barely missed the 1.0 release because I wasn't happy with them) disappearing blocks and some more tile types. So expect that in the first week or two of the new year at the latest. As usual I'll throw you all some promo codes, so there will be a new post in the promo codes forum shortly. Cheers, Stuart. Oh, here's the release trailer if you've not already seen it. It'll be nice to finally see what sort of levels get created by all of the nice? sneaky? evil? people out there, especially as I had to delete all of the pre-release levels from the servers before launch. You do not want to know the kinds of things that were getting put in levels TrueBlou Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Mar 20, 2014 269 0 16 Software Developer - witenoiz.com Scotland http://www.witenoiz.com #3 TrueBlou, Dec 20, 2015 Here's a quick look at a couple of the new additions to the level editor coming in update 1.0.1. Namely sloped tiles and disappearing/re-appearing tiles. Oh and the chattering teeth enemies, bit like the pumpkins but you can't bounce off the teeth, it's instant death on contact with them. Gives a bit more flexibility when creating levels and it also means I'll be able to release the first batch of new levels for the main game as some of them need the 1.0.1 update. Should be available in the first week or two of the new year. Also making its first appearance in the 1.0.1 update is water, Harry can finally swim. What fool didn't include that to begin with And of course you can read more about the game here. Other than the addition of slopes, water and disappearing/reappearing tiles for the level editor. I also managed to slim down the game size quite considerably. So it takes up almost half the amount of space as it did before. And on Apple TV the size has been reduced by more than half. It's one of those changes that don't matter to a lot of folk I suppose, but I always think taking up less valuable storage space is better if you can. Here's what's new: New items in the U-Craft level editor, including sloped tiles, water and disappearing/re-appearing blocks. The tiles in the level editor have been modified so you can easily spot which are platforms, solid blocks or scenery. More of the scenery items can now be added to the second layer. Preparation for the first batch of (free) new levels getting added to the main Backpack Harry game. Significantly reduced the install size of the game so it takes up much less space on your device. Some minor under the hood fixes and improvements. Snooptalian Well-Known Member Sep 12, 2009 1,936 8 38 #7 Snooptalian, Jan 7, 2016 Anyone try this game yet? If they've all been used give me a shout and I'll send you a code if you want to try the game out. The included levels at the moment are fairly basic for the most part as they are just to give you an idea of how things work before you make your own levels. Or that's the idea anyway. The proper game levels are coming in an update, well, it's not an update as such, they'll be made available for download and you'll be prompted when they are available. But I'm starting work on the next update for the game because there's things I want to do before I release the next batch of levels (which are the first non training/proper game levels) and there's been requests for new additions on other forums. So if there is anyone here who has the game and wants anything added/changed, now is the time to ask. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
