But the controls are too unresponsive, on an iPad. I'm pretty sure they work better on an iPhone, because if you swipe your finger has less distance to travel. The music is a bit repetitive as well. jsrco Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Oct 15, 2009 2,134 1 38 Coordinator Seattle https://www.Fatthunder.com #3 jsrco, Dec 1, 2015 Iap? touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #4 touchy85, Dec 1, 2015 yes, coin-doubler for $2,99 and a unlock everything in the shop for $4,99 jsrco Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Oct 15, 2009 2,134 1 38 Coordinator Seattle https://www.Fatthunder.com #5 jsrco, Dec 1, 2015 Awesome, checking it out. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #6 anthony78, Dec 1, 2015 Not that those IAPs are bad but I have to wonder if this will just flip to F2P. Does the "grind" for coins and upgrades seem balanced? touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #7 touchy85, Dec 1, 2015 It's a bit early to tell, but the prices for upgrades seem to be pretty high. jsrco Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Oct 15, 2009 2,134 1 38 Coordinator Seattle https://www.Fatthunder.com #8 jsrco, Dec 1, 2015 This game does not seem as polished as it looks in the screens. There is a lot to unlock and the currency seems pretty generous. No IAP currency either. But man the controls and gameplay and clashing graphics just make me hit my head into the wall. Literally in game and reality. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #9 anthony78, Dec 1, 2015 Last edited: Dec 1, 2015 Thanks. It does look like fun and I'll probably bite. I keep an open mind with IAPs. But there seems to be a nasty trend lately of developing games as F2P but charging a price up front for a few weeks before going full freemium. That's a practice that I don't like to support. Hopefully, that's not the case here. H4nd0fg0d Well-Known Member Mar 30, 2010 1,905 0 36 #10 H4nd0fg0d, Dec 1, 2015 Think I'll steer clear of this one. A way to skip the story in the beginning of level you already completed And the tap controls aren't reliable, I wish they were more responsive or sensitive and can't seem to move back and forth fast and reliably especially since control in a game like this is everything! But I will be playing more tonight! Based Xatu Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2013 1,937 0 0 #16 Based Xatu, Dec 1, 2015 Why would you tease us like that? NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #18 NOEN, Dec 2, 2015 I'm still on the fence on this one right now. I love the music, love the pixel art, love the theme/setting of the game, it's got plenty of upgrades and unlockables (which is my favorite thing in games), it's just the controls. They work fine for me (iPhone 6), but it just makes the game feel so.....I dunno, mechanical? It would be SO much better if it controlled like a shmup game where you could hold your finger on the screen at all times to move your character or even a control pad. I mean, there's times where you have to move all the way across the cave and instead of moving your finger or doing one long swipe, it's a really quick swipe swipe swipe swipe. (If that makes sense) Think of it as like an endless runner where you have to swipe across the 3 lanes, except there are like 6-8 lanes. It's a lot of swiping. That's my only issue right now and it's a BIG issue. Everything else so far is great, so I can't really recommend it right now in this state. I'll keep at it and see if I get used to the swipe controls or if I figure something else out. I'll update my impressions if anything changes and if the swiping stuff I mentioned doesn't bother you, then by all means, buy the game. The rest is pretty good so far. FYI, I'm not sure if I said the word "swipe" enough in my impressions so, swipe swipe swipedy swipe. esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #19 esty8nine, Dec 2, 2015 Lmao ^ completely agree that's my only issue with the game, the controls ! Please please fix. Anyone know if computer controls are any better ? evanac Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2011 49 0 0 Senior Producer http://www.laughingjackal.co.uk #20 evanac, Dec 2, 2015 I think the controls work well. You're effectively moving between tracks which enables a good deal of precision IMHO. You can make quite tiny taps without issue, so I'm certainly not struggling. I'm also enjoying the presentation and upbeat atmosphere of the game. About an hour in and enjoying myself so far. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
