Play as Diglet, the mole, Mr. Dig, the miner, or Doogie, the evil clown, using tap mechanic. Tap near the player to act, or tap on the player to pause the game and browse options. If you wait several seconds without acting, hints appear onscreen showing where you can move next. Mr. Dig can dig straight down or sideways, but not straight up. He can also hop/leap anywhere up to 2 rows/columns away (so long as the path isn't blocked). Boulders can be pushed from the sides, or jack-hammered (destroyed) from above. This mix of level mechanics drives a level progression that starts easy, and ends up fiendishly difficult, with a blend of puzzle solving and action elements. Each level is cleared by either collecting all fruits/gems, then escaping back to the top of the screen, or (on levels with no prizes) by defeating all enemies (bats, trolls, skeletons, spiders, devils, demons). If you enjoy games like Sokoban, but are interested in a twist, give Mr. Dig a try - it's free, with optional IAP to remove ads. dreadnok Well-Known Member Jun 8, 2011 4,157 7 38 I came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum I'm ou #3 dreadnok, Nov 19, 2015 It's actually a pretty fun game that requires a bit of strategy to survive, worth a look for sure Stroffolino Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Apr 28, 2009 1,100 8 38 Software Engineer Pennsylvania http://www.northernbytes.ca #4 Stroffolino, Nov 25, 2015 I was pleasantly surprised and honored to see Mr. Dig get a writeup at macworld as one of the 22 best free iPad games. http://www.macworld.co.uk/feature/iosapps/22-best-free-ipad-games-ios-3506984/ On unrelated note, an update has been submitted to Apple, with a patch for a minor bug, modified App Icon, and App Preview.
