I hope it has enough significant combat to avoid being a "runner with combat" like Verticus was. I mean Verticus was good IMO, but im looking for a more "3D shmup with some runner mechanics" if that makes any sense. Are there any IAPs? No offense, but you seem to be having a hard time going through the game. Are there any controls issues that may be causing this? Qwertz555 Well-Known Member May 22, 2010 2,318 29 48 #6 Qwertz555, Nov 18, 2015 I don't have the time yet to start this (hopefully brilliant *fingers crossed*) on-rail shooter, but a quick heads up for the Dev(s): the icon above (also shown in my swiss store) is not what you finally will have installed on your device. Honestly, both are rather...not so well chosen/designed. Not knowing this title and seeing either icon on my TA's starting site, i would never have checked it out...but who cares (lol, i do) if the actual gameplay will shoot my nagging into oblivion. *crosses even the toes* touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #7 touchy85, Nov 18, 2015 The controls are a bit hyper sensitive and I'm looking for the best way to control the game. Keeping your finger on the screen is the best one I think. jpgold Well-Known Member Sep 21, 2012 1,818 56 48 Online Ad Sales - Pandora New York, NY #8 jpgold, Nov 18, 2015 I downloaded immediately as it looked beautiful. I definitely feel that the controls could be smoother. It is very difficult to maneuver around and dodge obstacles. Also feel that you don't get enough time to shoot down enemies but that may be resolved through upgrades. I hit buy as soon as I saw the first couple of screen shots! I'll report back after I get a bit of play time.# Right off the bat I can tell you it DEFINITELY needs a sensitivity adjuster for the controls. They are waaaaay too sensitive as is. Also, a different shooting mechanism would be appreciated. I was never a big fan of tap to shoot. An auto fire similar to ARC Squadron would be slick, where your ship fires at whatever is in its crosshairs. The sensitivity adjuster should be top priority though. Aside from that stuff though, so far so good. It's absolutely gorgeous, and so far the level design seems great. I love games like these, and this one has the potential to be one of my favorites. There are a couple of ships you can unlock with points you get from objectives like fly through X hoops or shoot down X minibosses. The game cycles through a small number of maps with pretty much the same visuals. Controls. Almost always an issue when you go in more than two directions and in the case of Dark Star, it's sensitivity. I got used to it in around 2 minutes but often found myself limiting my own range, perhaps from adapting to the sensitivity combined with the slight moving self-adjusting camera. Barrel rolls. I loved doing those in Star Horizon and you could do it there in any direction, be it up, to the side, or even a letter J. Here, it's limited to dodging left or right with a double tap. It also slows down time for a dramatic effect but I want absolute mobility to feel like I'm truly in control of my ship. I often found it hard to tell where bullets were going to fly since they visually have a curved path. I also wondered why my ship would fire automatically at times at things that did not have a target box till it took damage. Most times, I'd still have to select a target. However, selecting a target is more akin to button mashing where I just tapped in anything that might be a destructible. How do I access Game Center from within the game? Frame rate was iffy at times on my i6+ on high graphics settings. I prefer low so it mostly stays above 30fps. I haven't tried playing the game after a phone restart but it's not practical on a regular basis when a game like Marvel Future Fight has no trouble on max at smooth frame rates. Personally, the game could use some refinement. But first impressions can be swept by further gameplay that gets better with upgrades, unlocked better ships, and updates here and there. Advancement will tell. I shall also investigate some alternative controls for people (the subject of MFi controllers was brought up on the TA stream so I'll see what could work on those too). I can always go for more barrel rolls - could be interesting to explore. The slow down (apart from being flashy) is there to get you some breathing room. As you clear more areas the speed increases, so after five or so areas things can become extremely frantic. At the moment it stays out of the way, only popping up when you post a highscore or complete a mission. If you'd like a discrete button I'll pop that in on the next update. This is troubling - my tests on the 6+ were showing the game running maxed out with no issues whatsoever. I'll look into this. Thanks for the thoughts, they are really appreciated - so keep them coming! I'll keep at it but I keep crashing because my entire right hand is in the way having to try to press everywhere on the screen while using my left to dodge. And the movement speed needs a sensitivity slider. It's way way way too fast. It's almost like the game is in fast forward. I really looked forward to this title but these issues are really hampering the experience. Billy jetveetlev Well-Known Member Oct 17, 2013 83 0 6 #19 jetveetlev, Nov 19, 2015 Woah Thanks! Bullets are far easier to touch. The reason being I'm struggling with the mission to unlock 2 upgrades. Edit: just farmed the blue stars a bit more and got the 9 points I needed. Pretty tricky to judge the right distance to intercept them IMO. But it's no big deal if most don't have an issue with it. Thanks for interacting with the community btw. Always very welcome and is great for both the dev and player. I know every dev loves to see player stats so here's mine so far. Longest run was 10 stages. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
